VWNate1,
Is this what you're trying to do: This is your first picture... Then your second picture... And, another picture... You can attach your images, using the "Manage Attachments" section. Then, put your cursor where you want the attachment to be, and use the "Attachments" button (looks like a paper clip) to insert the image where you want it to show up. (See below!) That's a really short description of how you get text between the images. don

This what I did the other day. All that is left is the outside of it, tailgate and fender wells.

Rocinante's at the shop getting some finangling done on the E-brake for the 14-bolt full floater I just put in. In the meantime I'll sit on the edge of my seat waiting for it to be done. I don't sleep right without her...

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Fitted the new shoes to the frame to help decide what color the body ought to be.
255/50r17 Nitto 555 on American Racing Torque Thrust II with PVD finish. 4/5 drop This is my umpteenth build on these body style trucks. By far the deepest but man I can't decide colors. I watch all the member trucks here and still no real decision on anything. Lots of great iron.... Too many choices. Posted via Mobile Device Posted via Mobile Device

wreckedchevy,
This was a great explanation! I really like this board and how everyone helps...and not just with truck-specific things, but many other subjects and issues, as well! don Quote:

RAT's hidin' up on the rack. Then aligned.
And then back to the wheel balancing bay.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Would'a loved to, Fuzzy.
I paid $120 for the job, including a nice job of wheel balancing. At $4.00/gal, I bet my trip to your place would have been a little tougher on the wallet. More fun. But, harder on the wallet.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Made a deal with the painter today. Since I'd just sprayed it with Tractor Supply Matte Black in the driveway,
I wasn't going to paint it. But we went to a show last weekend and I got dazzled by the "shiny stuff". The guy right next to us is a very good Body and Fender Man (A local. And we've seen a bunch of his work). He came over to the house yesterday. And he sent me the quote today. So, off to the bank Monday to get 1/2 of the deal up front. Then, a definite (..."if I don't finish in 12 weeks, I take $1,000 off) time frame. We're going to check out Palladium Silver Metallic (792) on Monday after we go to the bank. Anybody else like this color for our truck?

Dreamed about replacing the fuel sending unit in my truck. And putting the
Z28 back together after paint. I am on the last leg of a two week trip. Get home tomorrow. Kerry

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Changed out the burnt up old dizzy (PO didn't put a resistor in after replacing burned up wiring) with the Skip White HEI , new 10 ga. power wire and some end connectors from the ign. unfused in the fuse block, .045 gapped AC Delco copper plugs, and some house brand 8mm plug wires. Didn't find TDC properly, heck, couldn't even find the timing marks, and probably messed up the firing order. Wouldn't fire up. That was yesterday.
Today pulled the HEI, found TDC, cleaned off the timing tab (darn that sucker doesn't have much of a viewing window), pointed HEI towards one, re-seated it, rerouted wiring in the right order, and vroom fired right up sputtering quite a bit. Rotated HEI till she was purring and tightened the bolt down. The timing mark was at about 2 degrees retarded when I did the #1 spark plug hole blow off trick with the remote starter but I couldn't get the engine to turn even after pulling all the plugs. I didn't try the socket, just grabbed pulleys and belts, nada. Guess I need a timing light and see if I can find that tab in those close quarters after setting the idle and whatnot. Is there any danger in running with the timing not set if she sounds like she's running smoothly? Or will she just drink a lot of gas like she used to anyway? I don't think I'm hearing any pinging, but I'm not sure. Thanks for all the info on this sight, I couldn't a done it without y'all!
