After 3 weeks of getting painted I finally got her back! And new tires and wheels and new tail lights (the old ones were falling off).
I included one from before for a reference. Hopefully I will get a snow day tomorrow and get to reupholster my bench seat. |

Saw all the white trucks so I figured I'd make my first post after years of stalking around here. Here's my 2 current short beds. The 1st is an '85 the 2nd an '87 bought from a member here on the board.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
I'll try this again in the RIGHT thread. Sorry in advance guys, lots of threads and i got side tracked.........
I'm new here but I thought I'd throw my truck in the mix. Started out as a 1973, was built into an off Road race truck in either 1981-82, then purchased by none other than Walker Evans for one of his clients who needed an off road class 8 truck built. Walker took the 73 and updated the cage and suspension, and also a newer grill/front fenders to the mid 80's. The truck raced in the SCORE/HDRA series in the 1980's and also a smaller Arizona series where it won a couple Championships under Bill Howard. The truck changed hands a couple times and now I'm the proud owner of this little piece of off road racing history. Picture from the 1985 MINT 400 race...... Here is how it sits now.... Plan is to tear it down to the frame and restore her back to the original colors and get her back in racing form to compete in the NORRA Mexican 1000 vintage off road race held every May in Baja Mexico. This restoration will start after this years Mexican 1000 because i have a different project I'm finishing up. |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
This was my Dads 74 Cheyenne Super 454 that he use to pull a 28 foot Silver Streak Trailer with. I loved this truck but unfortunately he sold it after about a year because it used too much gas. I wish I had it now.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds
Hello;
Here is a pic of my 1978 chevy s/b. I have owed it since 1988 It is still very dependable ride. It just does't get drove that much anymore. It set in the yard till I need to haul dirt/gravel or trash. It looks bad(I know) I just can't part with it. Just been a real great truck. Tim |
