Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I have that same control setup for mine and was thinking about doing something similar. What did you use to mount that in? I was thinking about a radio delete panel but that looks fantastic.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
I committed some more sacrilege and used a crown vic wire harness as a donor to make a new engine harness. not exactly a MisterB underhood cleanup but atleast it doesn't cut out when I hit a bump and I can finally get to those last two plugs :-)
does anybody out there know what the fuseable link running to the battery is suppose to be for? I looked at the wiring diagram can't tell what it's actually for, mine's always been disconnected. thanks Before After

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
The Fusible Link is *supposed* to fry if you get a dead short in the primary hot wire , this in theory , prevents electrical fires from burning your Ship Of The Highway to the water line before you can call 911 .
The idea is to use the lowest value one you can that won't get hot and melt or go open circuit .

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
did a little work on my shifter for my 700r4, i reworked the original 4 speed shifter. i still need to extend it a few more inches, tweak the gate on it & make a shift boot.
i also picked up a cool looking speedo and gas gauge out of a buick la sabre from the junk yard along with a gauge style gear indicator, not sure if i'm going to use them on my truck yet.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Installed my new drive shaft which solved all of my problems of the truck violently shaking at high speeds. So now it rides like a dream and I sped down the highway for about an hour.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Thursday I put in new rear shocks, finished hooking up back-up lights, replaced and bled flex lines for brakes, painted doors to match the rest of my satin black truck, then Friday I took to our collector car appreciation day at my place of employment. The Filling Station.
I would post pics but it wont let me.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Disconnected the vacuum advance and re-timed my truck. 10* btdc and left the vacuum advance disconnected (like GM told me to do) gives me 36* total advance just like I should have. Runs a bunch better.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Washed the truck for the first time since I got it back from the body shop. Also got the wife to drive it around the block for the first time with the new fuel injection system on it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Added a oil pressure guage...not in your usual location. I have a guage in the dash, but it only has graduation marks. I want to know he numerical number. I attempted to tee into the line that goes to the back go the block next to the dizzy, but no luck in finding a tee that would work. And I could not get the plug above the oil filter to budge, so I put it up front. I seem to be alway messin with some thing under my hood so I figured this spot would be perfect. I have pretty good pressure at idle...~25psi.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!
Cage in progress. Bout half done....Going to need to find a powdercoater soon.
It's not a certified cage as you can see. It's pieced together 2.5" 3/16 wall. It won't be as strong as contimuous tube, but will at least be able to mount the seats and belts to it. Better than nothing and all the tubing was FREE! Thinking it will get a bikini top eventually. Yet to do, seat bars... 2 more runners along the top....and make pipe gussets where the side runners and the vertical hoops tie together. |
