I will get some more pictures this weekend. I work 60 hours a week so I only get down to my shop on the weekends. This weekend I'm going to get the firewall and engine bay painted. That way I can get the wiring done. Wonc the wiring is done ill know a better idea of where ilm going to put my monster turbo

I found a Beautiful solution to the Water temp sensor problem we have with these swaps. When doing an ls swap you may have noticed that there are NO temp sensors that fit with out the gobby S&P adapter. well I happen to me a machinist. So a took a 1986 temp sensor and turned it into a 12mm x 1.5 anyone want one? I made a few...

One thing about Por-15 on your frame, there's a discussion going on in the Paint section about needing a top coat on Por-15 as it will turn purple over time b/c of UV rays. I used it under my cab and under my bed, it worked ok but next time I will use a Rustoleum product like I did on my frame to save some $$.

I tried cutting my water temp sensor down like yours, however it didn't turn out so well. Do you still have any of the others left? I'd be willing to purchase one if you still have them.

VDO makes a sensor that LOOKS just like a turned down normal sensor. Im giving it a try in my truck and will let you know how it turns out.

Went to Keystone paint today Its called Intense Blue Pearl, Its a Chrysler color. I bought paint, clear, sealer, and misc supplies to paint it . planning on doing the engine bay tonight and tomorrow. DO WORK SON!

Decided not not turbo yet Since I totaled my camaro I need something to drive. so I really need this truck done. I have all the parts I need I just need to get on it. sanded most of the fire wall this weekend. It took so long to get that tar **** off that I did not get anything painted. I did get my new lights hung though. its so bright in my shop now and I still have 5 more lights to hang up. some pictures.

Holes welded, smoothed over with rage gold body filler, and the primered with a etch primer. 4:30am

Thanks fellas! I have always wanted to do something like this. Just now staring at these pictures I just noticed I forgot the seam sealer on the line across the firewall, FML It's always something. Now what do I do

Yes, it was that black/ thick rubber undercoating thats sprayed all over the firewall from the factory on most trucks. it took me 6 hours to get it all off using lacquer thinner. I was going to do a nice clean strip across the seam and forgot. It should be fine, it is just a bummer

So once I got it back to the shop I could not wait, so my friend Joe came over and we went crazy on the truck. 11pm to 6am this is what we ended with. I'm so Happy I decided to build this truck! I decided that the engine covers are going blue also, I forgot yo takee some pictures but the trans/T-case was painted the same silver as the heads. maybe I can make this truck look nice enough I can get it featured in a truck magazine. THAT WOULD BE AWESOME!!

Beautiful! i love that color i want to do a 6.0l/4l80e swap in my 2wd 82 silverado. since it is my first car my mom said i may be limtied to a 5.3l/4l60e
dad said if we find a 6.0l we could just tell mom its a 5.3 did adding the tow/haul make wiring much more complicated? I really wish i could find a good 40/20/40 seat like the one you got. sweet truck it should be in a truck mag

Thanks The tow/haul was super easy, All you need to do Is add a momentary ground to one of the pins in the PCM. (I dont remember the PIN off the top of my head) When you push the button and ground that PIN you switch it into tow/haul. when you push it a second time you turn it off. there is no way yo hook up a light so you need to remember how many times you hit the switch, But when you shut off the truck It goes back yo normal.

I has a question! I need to install my air-box and there is a little groove on the surface that mounts to the firewall. This groove is for a sealer to make the box air tight. What can I use to seal this to the firewall? I want something that will bead up and dry before the air box has been installed. but stays soft enough to form to the firewall surface. I do not want to adhere this thing in place, incase i have yo remove in the future. what do you think I should use?
