Re: 71 suburban daily
I bought the motors at Rockauto. They where something like 35 dollar a piece.
Everything i needed to make them fit is custom made. For me this was the easiest en cheapest way to make power windows. The motor still stay within the range of the standard swinger arm(or how its called)

Re: 71 suburban daily
I have been busy past weekend, Saturday i made an 3"stainless exhaust for a drag racer.
Sunday i worked on my middle console for the suburban, I am making it from aluminum because that is much lighter than wood. I think it is turning out nice.... I am going to put the same carpeting on the sides and put blue leather on the top of it.

Re: 71 suburban daily
Thanks, I like to see that I am not building thing no one likes.
@ Nuke1, the window motors are originally for a 1982 CHEVROLET C10 SUBURBAN At first when i got the i thought that i had just thrown a good 115 buks down the drain(i live in the Netherlands so returning is not an option). But after a good look and a headache i came with this solution. It works great now.

Re: 71 suburban daily
I have to say, GREAT work!!! The burb is looking great, color is awesome and your craftsmanship is top notch.
That is one thing I have to hand it to you guys outside of the US, you come up with some creative ways to make things work. It comes down so many times to, not because you want to but because you have to. Keep it up.

Re: 71 suburban daily
It is indeed not that easy to get some parts over here, i am really jealous about your junkyards. I wish i had access to that much parts.
But to make my own stuff makes me stand out from the rest, that is the good thing about it. here is the new stance with the 4"lowering in the back and 2"lowering in the front. Still he is 2"higher in the rear, so i could have bought the 6"lowering springs for the back. But i think it looks ok as it is now.

Re: 71 suburban daily
Looks good. I really like that color.
Even with the abundance of parts here it is still way cooler to make your own parts.

Re: 71 suburban daily

Re: 71 suburban daily
These are the BOSS 338 wheels, 18 inch.
Thanks for the compliments, I think I am the foreigner. If i see the projects going on over there, we can learn a lot from that. But as i mentioned earlier, it is not that easy to get some nice parts over here. I went to a show in Florida last October, and the cars i have seen there are a lot nicer than what i see at shows here. But with my 38pickup i want to go that step further.

Re: 71 suburban daily
Its a shame, I was on page ten already. That is how long i have been wasting time making my garage a little larger.
But since I have 4 weeks off, I did some interior work. Not completely finished yet but I want to know if I am heading the right way. O, and i got my windows tinted. How does it look....I am now working on the rear middle seat. After that I have to do the rear door panels.
