Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Looks like a longhorn? Are you keeping the long wheel base, cutting that bad boy up?

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
yep, but it's basically the doner truck. It'll be shorter for sure.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Rob good luck on the build. If I get time to get it back together I will be running my truck next year as well. I have beat the he'll out of Bowlers automatics in mine and have not broke one yet. I know 700hp on the big road courses is a blast. There nothing better then passes cars on the track.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Rob,
Why not utilize a Big10 chassis under this one to promote your product line?

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Shorten to 105" wheel base and drop a blazer tub on it. Aluminum floor in the rear, you can put a roll bar in for stiffening the chassis, no roof, soft tops are available (used anyway), more weight lower, less up high. Just saying...
Another thing to consider is that the 3/4 ton frame is heavier than a 1/2 ton frame. I think the thickness is more and I had some documentation on it in one of my books.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
I have a good friend in indy that has been building carbon indy cars for years. He can build the whole truck out of carbon if you want it just take money. His name is Jason Dominguez he owns jasada speed shop in Indy. I would be more then happy to hook you up with him. He and I have tossed the idea around of building one of these truck out of carbon.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Thought about it, but big-10's don't really fit there. The rails are too tall. We do make a Pro-Tech chassis for the C-10's (Mark Turner/Brian Finch) are using one on their next build. I want to test some new geometry and parts, so we're leanin towrds a full custom build so that we can swap parts easy.

Hey Rob, I know some body that needs a set of the longhorn bed extenders if you could send me a PM to talk about getting the ones off that bed. Thanks

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Sorry, they were welded on, and badly warped. We cut the bedsides off with a plasma cutter! ouch. The floor (diamond plate) and tubbs were also welded, and went to the scrapper.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Going tomorrow to look at some wheel hoops. Today we stripped the cab down of everthing that would unbolt, and the glass. An empty cab was appx 500 lbs. Now the stripped version is down to 317 lbs. Need to shed another 100 + lbs. Now we start trimming.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Good luck with that. I'm guessing some of the cowl, kick panel vents, dash, floor supports, etc will be altered and I don't think that will be enough for 100lbs.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Rob, if you want to sell the wheels off of your donor truck let me know. What about cutting out the inner roof panel? Is that legal? You'd still have the outer and I'm sure you'll have a roll bar any way. Just make a thin hard board headliner to hide it gone.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
Yes, you guys are on it. Most of the inner structer will go. Holes, dimples, and cutaways galore. Full cage will add some weight, but ya gotta have it. picked up 8 wheel hoops today, rears weigh 12 lbs, fronts 10 1/2. it's a start

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
I think suburbans had a single layer headliner with a cloth or fabric inner, so it should not be a problem to remove it. I think a huge weight loss could be had by removing the floor pan and replacing with aluminum. Carbon fiber door skins should be easy to make, cut out most of the inner panel of the door and use an aluminum panel there. Panel adhesive to hold it all together with keep it solid and no rattles. Door hinges are pretty heavy and you won't need that beef with lighter doors. Same with the latches and oter handles.

Rob, i had the pleasure of shaking your hand at Adams about two months ago and got such a kick out of watching your two trucks and James' el co break up the rice-capade going on out there. Good luck with the build it will be exciting to see this unfold.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
K-10 Progress
1. Wheel hoops. It took a while but we hunted down som one piece spun hoops. Very light and strong. An 18" x 12" hoop is 9 lbs!. 18" x 10" hoop is just over 8 lbs. Now we have to make centers. 2. Why do we have to make our own centers? you ask, well, no one makes an 18" Wide 5 wheel. This is the hub assy we are using. The aluminum tab off of the lug stud is my 'quicky' back space clearance checker. I know, pretty low-tech. 3. From the back side, you can see the rotor, caliper, and spindle. With all of this together, pads included, the whole thing tips the scales at 31 lbs.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
K-10 Progress
1. The pass. door had some bad crunchies in it. I thought I could hammer them out, so I started on the rest of the door. Now that I was invested in this door, I failed at hammering out the damage. Too far in to throw this in the dumpster, I made a skin and am now re-skinning the majority of the door. 2. This is the gutted cab, with no dash. It's really solid, and I kind of hat to cut it up, - but I will. P.S.I am selling the dash, and all of the factory A/C controls. all uncut, for $100 bucks. 3. I am trying to get all my parts stacked up and ready before I tie up one of our build tables, here are some of the cage and rail tubes. Damn, D.O.M. is getting pricey. Now we have to measure four times, mistakes are too costly. Yes, I made one.

Re: No Limit's "K-10"
what about just cutting the whole floor pan out not only will it lighten the cab but you could use the flintstone power in the turns
