Re: 71 Chevy LWB Transformation
Got the pictures of the motor and trans mocked up. I did move the motor back to the rear holes of the frame on the motor mounts. I also got the right side header in place. The accessory drive system from chevy performance is awesome. It's a great deal for someone converting to a big block or that just doesn't want to run the old v-belt system.

Well I got the cab corner on and mud on it. I put a few things on the engine today to make sure they worked. More cab work and sanding tomorrow. After a good cleaning it should be ready to paint it soon.

Re: 71 Chevy LWB Transformation
Installed the sump in the tank and painted the seat brackets. I removed the old rear end and got the transmission mount squared away. I will start preping the cab for paint and making a mount for the fuel pump. I'll paint the fenders and the cowl and hood this week. I did get the one piece windows from brothers the other day. Getting closer.

Re: 71 Chevy LWB Transformation
Well I went back to work so it will be a while for any more work to get done. I'm hoping I'll be driving it this next time i'm home. I have a little work left on the cab and hood. I also have about 1 day of welding to do to the frame and exhaust. I have to plumb up the fuel lines and pump.

Re: 71 Chevy LWB Transformation
This was 10 years ago when I put the 489 in it. I drove it like it looked here for about 6 months and was working on the body with a smaller budgit. About that time the motor let go with less than 500 miles. It wasn't very streetable and it was a pain in the butt to stop with 5-6" of vacuum. It was a beast to drive made lots of power though. A few months after parking it a kid hit it while it was parked on my property about 15' from the street. So long story short he never did anything to make it right no insurance. I was so mad about the whole thing I let it sit for about 9 years. Now i'm going to finish what I started years ago, but this time it's going to be done much better than it would have been done back then.

Re: 71 Chevy LWB Transformation
Well I worked on the dash and mounting the southern rods hvac unit. I also welded up some more holes in the bed. I got a sweet deal on an edelbrock performer rpm nitrous setup. I should be getting the cab ready for paint next week. I will start with more pictures soon.
