Aaron, you are a genius.

Your builds make me embarrassed for even trying (Yes, I know thats not the idea or point)

Your finishes are stunning.

I am looking at getting a 60-66 Chevy truck to tow my teardrop with......

Thread here.

http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...17#post5956617

My 1963 Ford Taunus Transit FK1250 towning it yesterday.

I imported the van as a former Village Fire engine from Germany in 2007. It has a modern fuel injected 16 valve Ford 1800cc Zetec engine and can haul ass if needed.

Your teardrop just blew me away.

That is beyond cool! My red one ton dually pictured above is also a retired fire truck, our old brush unit from my department. I like seeing old fire apparatus, even though I couldn't imagine responding to a fire in something so small! And that camper is awesome as well, the wooden side and porthole window is just classic!

Thank you, your praise is generous.

Here is the full build thread for my Teardrop.

I am a bit of a serial "fiddler" I like to make stuff, and like the teardrop, I do best when making it up as I go along.

CLICKY LINKY

http://retrorides.proboards.com/inde...y&thread=67389

The sides were meant to be Ally clad as well, like the rest of the camper, but by the 7th coat of varnish we realized the wood had to stay, and I am really pleased we did, it forms a neat contrast.

The Portholes are wooden wall clock face surrounds, bought for £1 or $1.50 each at a new cheap store opening, I bought four of them, and sandwiched the walls and also the "glass" which is policarbonate cut from discarded caravan windows

I tried to add a quirky feel to it, as it is a quirky thing in itself.

Re: Lets see pics of your truck hauling!!

Thought I would just add this in as it links to my post above about the teardrops.

NO MORE GRIZZ MOBILE......

After getting some advice on removing the Graffitti which this bus was known by, as it may put some buyers off, I have used some thinners, a couple of rags and done 4 passes on it all, soak, scrub, scrub, wash and then wiped again with a good old T-shirt.

GOING.......

GOING.......

GONE !!!!

Next up some polish and a bit of rubbing should see it almost disappear.

Grizz, your van and trailer are awesome! Those wheels darn near look like early EMPI wheels for a VW. They are cool looking.

Wow, I didn't think that many bales would physically fit in the bed.

Re: Lets see pics of your truck hauling!!

Here's the old '70 towards the end of it's service to me.I used to load those racks to the hilt, along with a full bed of materials, and bins stuffed with tools:

used to load this '71 just as bad, except the bins didn't hold as much and the load just hung out the back more:

Here's the '72 with a load of parts.I slapped the racks on this one, too, just don't have pictures handy:

The '72 GMC hauling a '71 Chevy:

Here's the Highland with the racks loaded.I took a day off work to move from my shop,so the bed is loaded with shop stuff and more on the trailer:

The white one hauling parts:
