Re: progress pics
nice tanks. i'm using one of those exact tanks, but will need to find a different place to mount it since my gas tank is where you have yours.

Re: progress pics
Big day today. Got the truck off the jackstands for the first time. I almost have the rear done. Last thing to do is a framerail crossmember between the cab and notch. I got the shocks mounted, boxed the frame in front of the notch, and put braces on all corners of the notch. She is looking sweet. I wish I could get it to lay level at this point, but haven't touched the front yet.

Re: progress pics
today I chopped the crossmember. I went with 1.5". I wasn't going to do all that work for anything less. I have a couple gaps, but overall, its coming out pretty good. I tacked it up and reinstalled it to make sure everything lines up. Now the million dollar question is what I'm gonna do for steering. I kow this subject is old hat, but if anybody can offer suggestions, Id appreciate it.

Re: progress pics
Has anybody tried moving the steering box and idler arm up on the frame an 1" or so? Or bending the pitman arm flat and raising the idler arm an equal amount to raise the linkage?
You would have to notch the frame for clearance, but it could help you use less joints in the steering shaft if the box was higher. I am looking into this for my cross member chop to avoid linkage / u bolt interference.

Re: progress pics
everything looks awesome so far!!! on thing i'd recomend would get rid of the panhard bar and build a watts link. the rear end will stay completely centered no matter at what height you are at.

Re: progress pics
Thats what I did. My crossmember is sectioned 1.75" and thats how much I moved all my steering up. We just basically sliced the side off the frame off and raised it 1.75" and welded it back together. Then reinforced the crap out of it!!! I can maybe get pictures tomorrow when Im working on my truck...
