Anybody here into Rat Rod look?
I have owned my '69 for 4 years, done some suspension work, but otherwise left it like I bought it. Now, I realize that I'm getting older, and so is my truck. If I don't take care of me, and the truck, neither one of us will live to be much older.
So, I've always wanted a hot rod, like an A on Deuce rails, so to speak. The '69 ain't no roadster, but the rat rod look appeals to me, so much so, that I am seriously considering the frame-on restification, with the body being painted a semi-flat black and traditional flames on the hood/front fenders. Imagine, if you will, some of the 28-32 Fords that you've seen, with black primer and flames, and that is the style I'm looking for. A set of steelies and caps, with big and littles, and a little chrome on each end, and you have it. Still wanna go with a decent interior, so the A/C and sounds are a priority. With a Goodwrench crate 350 and a 700R4, it should be good for the long haul. I figure that it should be doable for less than $15K, considering that new trucks with comparable features are easily over $20K. So, anyone into rat rods?
