Still mezmerized by this freeze plug. I mean I had the water pump off when instaling and the block was more or less empty what tiny bit i did see come out looked like antizreeze. I never put any water in there so I am hoping maybe since it was a brass freeze plug, maybe the two metals contracted at diferent rates and it poped itself out? Thats me being hopefull.

Well so far I think I am going to be ok. Seems I have 50 diferent things to do with my free time so I still havn't done alot. I dropped the exhaust and put the new freeze plug in, topped the block off with coolant it has stayed at the same fluid level for a good week now. I need to get some time off on a weekday to make it to the parts store and get a couple little peices like a throttle pin for the carb so I can attach the linkage and a reducer so I can put my water temp sensor for the fan on. Other than that I should be at the point of priming and timing. Never know for sure till I heat it up i guess but from what I can tell now I think I got lucky, real lucky.
