Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
67-68: Body is sleek. Later years more stout. It's close, but it's hard to deny the 67-68 body. I like the 67-68 front end best, so long as it's blue (ha!). I also like the 67-68 side molding best. It's simple and shows off the body.
1969-70: had a lot of paint/trim options. One I wish was a 71 option. Personal preference is I can do without the hood badge. 1971: Personal preference is the 71 grille was an upgrade. Looks great with that body. Disc brakes, and still had the great interior. 1972 is most nearly a 71, but my personal preference the interior was a downgrade. If I had to choose, then 67 or 71, but any will work, because they're all great.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I am partial to the 67 or the 72 as long as it is a SWB. The others are great trucks too. I have owned at least one of every year except 71 . My dream truck is a highly optioned 1972 K10 SWB custom deluxe in solid black. Air, auto. and a little lift.

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I will have to mirror the 67 folks. I liked the small back window until I drove one and realized how much more visibility I have with the big window. I would say I would take a 69/70 over a 68 and I'm just not a big fan of the 71/72 grill, of the 3 it is my least favorite.
I'm happy with my 70 long bed... I'm a woodworker and love being able to load sheets of plywood and close the gate. Would someone for the love of god tell everyone at your local home center its OK to drop the tailgate in their 50k truck so that the 8' 2x4 does not stick out 3 foot past the end of their 5' bed... I don't understand the extended cab fetish that has been going on for the last 10 years. I swear the trucks from today that will be worth the most in 30 years will be regular cabs because they are so rare. |

I like the '67's and the '72's. but what cracks me up is how every time someone not familiar with the differences refers to all of them as "72's".

I live my four eyes. There are suttle differences in the grill that you learn like you do on the chevy side

Re: What do you guys think is the best year?
I really like the 1970's paint scheme with the white lower and cab. That might have carried over until 1971, I'm not sure. But I like it! There's a lot going on visually here, but I like the sum of the parts.
I prefer disc brakes, so I made a hybrid!

Any year as long as it isn't missing 2 headlights.
