Re: Project: 65 C-10
Cool! did you fab it? or was it a kit? Looks very sweet, good work either way!
if you did fab it, do you have dimensions and a parts list?

Re: Project: 65 C-10
I bought the Speed Way Motors kit.. BUT only ended up using the bars, tabs, and heim joints.. so it really wasnt worth the 70 bucks. I made the center pivot piece with flat strap and a suicide doors bushing bung cut in 1/2. The bars ended up being cut down and re tapped. I also built the bracket coming off of the axle. I have less than $100 in it. I have heard that you need to have a bushing where the centerpiece rotates.. Ha I could build some for a fee...
Suicide Doors bung and bushing-10.00 Box tubing off of axle- free Flat strap for center piece-12.99 Speed Way Kit-69.99? Grade 8 bolts and lock nuts- 12.63

Re: Project: 65 C-10
Is there enough room between the housing and frame work to get the differential out of the housing when it needs to be rebuilt one day?

Re: Project: 65 C-10
looks great! So you do not have a bushing or bearing where the center piece rotates? Do you think it will wear? Is it at least greasable?

Re: Project: 65 C-10
Yes the center piece has a bushing and a grease fitting. It is one from Suicide Doors that has been cut in half then tapped for a grease fitting.
Yes there is enough room to rebuiild it if it would ever need it. Once you remove the center pivot arm there is a lot of space between the box tubing and the pumpkin. Thanks for the commentsguys

Re: Project: 65 C-10
What was the problem with the kit that you couldn't use the whole thing?

Re: Project: 65 C-10
There is no bushing for the bolt to ride on and just a lot of different things. I didnt want to put it on top the axle like speed way has theirs. I pretty much bought the kit for the bars and heims. I also used 2 tabs from it...

Looked at your pics a few times; really cool truck so far. Is your hood gonna fit over the fenders? Hope so......keep the gunk to a minimum!!

Re: Project: 65 C-10
I love those inner fenders, really keep a finished, detailed look. Much better than welding on a simple 1/2 round over the tire.
Subscribed for more pictures and info.
