Re: My 68 C10 Blowen LS2

The stock 02 6.0L throttle body next to the brand new 102mm throttle body. I think the motor is coming back out to get sent to a new dyno shop. Also i was just told by my buddy thats helping with this build i owe him $500 more in parts. OUCH

It's hard to hook up on the street with any tires. I have M/T ET drag radials that don't hook on the street, but at the track my 66 Chevelle with a 406 sbc does 1.54 60 ft. time.

My 68 C10 Blowen LS2

Here are some pics of the phenolic supercharger spacer that im running on my motor. It 1" think and goes between the lower manifold and the innercooler plate that the blower sits on. With this 1" spacer the IAT's drop by 50*, with a 1/2" spacer it only drops 25*-30*. The reason its phenolic is that phenolic doesn't transfer heat. So no heat from the motor will reach the blower.

I hate waiting to get parts back! I want my truck on the road! This motor upgrade was only suppose to take 1 month. Well almost 3 months later its still not on the road.

Yup thats an SS pickup frontend and he did it himself. It almost looks like an SS crew cab truck with a topper on it.

Sucks, Dude. Was short block stock? I know there is an LQ4 here in Sac on CL for sale.... too bad it's like 2000 miles away. Where did you get the blower spacer from?

Maybe now switch to L92 heads?

The only problem is i'm flat broke right now. I do have a line on an LQ4 near me but thanks for looking. The blower spacer is made by buddy (you see his truck in the youtube videos i put up) The spacer is $500. Nope no L92 heads. That would = a lot more money (as in having to buy a new lower blower manifold, new spacer and then the heads. I got the head out at a shop right now only about $100 to fix my heads (cracked intake runner).

Re: My 68 C10 Blowen LS2

Well i think i found the problem (i'm a dumba**). The heads were checked today and they are good up to 80 psi (in the water jackets). When i 1st put the head on i forgot that little dowle pin that goes around the both two outer the studs (to aligin the head gaskest). I did torque the head to spec then saw i was missing one (#8 cylinder side) then pulled the head off put the dowle in and retorqued the head using the same head gasket. Me- 0 Duma** part of me- 1.

Anything is possible, but you can reuse the MLS gaskets especially if they have not been ran.

Re: My 68 C10 Blowen LS2

Well got the motor back in yesterday, hooked everything up today. Fired it up and................................................................................................. .................................................................................................... ................... ran smooth. No antifreeze from the block in the cylinders this time. Did find a new problem though, the intercooler that is in the supercharger is leaking.! So i guess off comes the superchager to get the leak fixed. I think there is something/someone that doesnt want me to get this thing running and on the road this year!!!!!
