Better late than never? I'll agree to that. Mine is, probably like a lot of them here, a work in progress.

Wish me luck!

Old threads never die if they are good ones. Whatever happened to Longhorn Man ? He used to post all the time.

Here is mine.

This is my only one. I have parted one other 72 c30 Longhorn. Wished I could have kept it around.

I am doing a top end overhaul ( new Dart heads, cam, intake, roller rockers etc ) and engine detail and adding a 700r4 this winter. I will post up some progress as it comes together.

I see a few around town from time to time. I can think of two or three that I know the owners of. There is another that has been up for sale nearby for a few months too.

Enjoy

Re: Longhorn head count!

I'm new to the forum and have a 69 camper special longhorn and a couple projects for my 2 boys. One of which is a 70 c30 133" cab and chassis that will become a longhorn. Attached is my 69 hauling the c30 and my other sons 68 project (not a longhorn unfortunately)

Re: Longhorn head count!

Nice trucks! I've knocked a couple more in the head and found one more that the guy is way over priced on. I'm hoping to get mine road worthy soon.

Re: Longhorn head count!

Sooo, this is an old thread, but looks revived; that's good. I had a longhorn that I drove for 23 years and then retired her. Bought another, pretty much like the first. Take a look at the photos. The first longhorn, a friend's mom and dad purchased in 1972 and I was with them when they did. Bought her in 1980 or 81, can't remember. It was a great truck, but winters in Canada take its toll. She worked hard as she was my everyday driver. As they say "Rust in Peace"
