Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
The truck is all stripped out and on its way to Rick's house. It fought us hard today and I received 13 stitches because of it. Just got home from the hospital about a half hour ago. I smashed my left hand between the steering knuckle and axle tube of the dana 44 we were unloading to put under the truck to load it on the trailer. We were pretty sure it was broken but I lucked out and it's not. It actually happened a little after three today but I stuck it with Rick and his brother to get the job done. They are really a couple of great guys and really appreciated their help and company today. Which this is the case with most of you guys on the board. Jerry PM Rick on the tach and he is going to give you a great deal on it. Thanks Troy

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
I have been lucky so far. I have only taken Ibuprofin three times since my little accident yeterday. I went to work on the railroad this morning and the only response I got was "Well I can tell it's summertime!" If that tells you anything about my being accident prone.

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Hey Guys I have a 73 3+3 I have been building for about 2 years with a multitude of new parts. This thing started as a 73 3+3 4x2 The cab is almost rust free just a little starting in the cab corners, rockers are solid. I bought a 81 3+3 4x4 frame and a 78 3/4 ton 4x4 for the axles The frame is rolling, sand blasted and painted, with all new bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, steering box and power steering pump. I have a rebuilt 400 small block and a 400 turbo with transfer case new stainless brake lines and many other parts to much to list. Would like to get $3000.00 out of it if anyoe is interested. I also still have the complete rolling 4x2 frame for $400.00 I am like Troy built to much work and not enough time to complete.
Thanks Roger |

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Since this Dana 60 has 4:10's with a trac loc I am putting it under my 68 4x4 to pull my car trailer. I still have my other with a 4:56 trac loc for my big truck. Wish you would have stepped up earlier with the info Roger

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Don't be surprised if I come up with another one. I am in the process of ordering rear wheel arches for the blue tub so I can put it on the other chassis shortly. So, start saving up your pennies.

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Troy,
How are you doing, Hand healing Good? Spent a little time cleaning out the Truck this weekend. Got 4 Trash bags full out of it, When we got it off the Trailer Sat. Morning we pulled it about 5 feet till the u bolts in rear kicked out like u were afraid of happening. Made it a ***** to get it rest of way up my Driveway, I will probably start a build thread on it & post Pics of the effort involved Friday & from now on. It is 3rd in line as far as priority right now, Just want to Again Say Thanks for Your Help & Genourstly Concerning this Matter........... Rick Last edited by toomanytoyz; 04-22-2007 at 09:44 PM. |

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
It's actually draining ok and still isn't too painful. I took the gauze off and am letting it air out right now. Still only taking Ibuprofin about every 12 hours. So, it could definitely be worse. I am glad the u-bolts didn't kick out on the way home. What did you do to get it off of the trailer, put skinny tires on it?

Re: f/s 78 1ton 4x4 3+3 in Indiana
Those top of the line rear leaf springs didn't help matters either. One thing about it that truck still has a piece of me with it.
