Well the kit I am putting together does not have anything to do with the main door seal. The inner and outer I am doing seal to them selves separate of the main door seal.

So I will not sell it separate because you would not be happy with the results.

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

Ok I have gotten some cost back for the bulk buying and it will work in the #'s I was thinking. I now need to check on shipping and boxing. I should get a delivery time back today then I will pull the trigger and order. Also I should have a final cost later today or in the morning.

If needed I can get the factory main door seals from the same supplier for about $50 a set just to through that out their.

Remember to PM me if you want a set so I can contact everyone when they are ready to ship.

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

Ok I just ordered enough for 18 kits for the first go round. Delivery to me will be just over 2 weeks from today. The profiles I ordered are in stock but they add the adhesive as it is ordered so it is very fresh and sticky

Looks like the best all around way to do shipping is to use the flat rate package. I could save a few or spend a few more depending on where it is shipping to. But I figure if it takes me more time to deal with packaging and pricing then I would have to charge more so this should be the best way to go.

What are your thoughts?

And it looks like I can do it pre cut, packaged with simple directions and shipped any where in the USA for $65.00

I will have my wife get the pay pal set up tonight for pre-orders for the first 18 and that will also let me know if I need to order more before this shipment gets here.

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

I think what we have looks fatter. Sorry for the lousy cell pics. The foot strip does seem like it would work well on the rocker panels. It's just the right width to roll over the edge that gets scuffed bad, yet wouldn't hang over so far that you could see it beneath the door when closed.

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

Hey jeff thanks for checking but the top one is too big and the bottom one is to flat I tell you their are so many different size's, shape's, composite's, density's and what not I have had a heck of a time finding just what would work. But thanks again for trying.

Ok we have 11 confirmed in the my PM box!

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

PayPal is set up for orders, ship date for the first batch will be 3 weeks from 11-18-09 if ordering now click here! This kit is for 2 truck doors only and is $65 shipped for burbs send me a PM and we will work it out.

I have ordered enough for 18 sets (2 door trucks) but if I get enough orders up front I can add more material to this order.

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

I can do canada for the same cost as what the flat rate boxes are costing me. It will be a few dollars more but I will eat that, less paper work

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

Ok 13 sets out of the first 18 are sold so I think I will order another batch so their will not be much of a waiting period for the next order. But if you want in the first order group their are currently 5 sets left, tick-tick-tick

Re: LFD's upper door seal idea!

you said you also have good door seals that you use as well?

My truck blows air like a cheap hair dryer ...... no wait, she blows hard enough that it might be a GREAT blow dryer.

I have rust repair to do but it would be a few months or more till I get to it so I figured I might just replace the seals till I get that done.

I have good stock style seals in my truck plus my new double upper door seals. I am only selling the upper double set and I would recommend you go through a board vendor for the stock full door seal. The guy I am getting my upper seals from does carry the main door seal but I do not know the quality and price after I get them and send them out is more then our vendors. Now if your rust work does not involve the top half of the door or jamb then my seals would not be affected by your work. Hope that makes sense.

How permanent is the adhesive? If I install this stripping and a year from now decide to paint the truck, can I pull it off without damaging the stripping? Obviously I would need to apply new adhesive.

I think it would ruin the seal and leave half of it on the truck. But this way you can see if you like how it works before putting it onto new paint!

Kevin, I was going to order for my 77 C20, thinking the only issue would be that the strips would probably not be the right length. However, now I am reading again what you wrote and get the idea you think the profiles you are working with now might not be the ones you come up with as best for my 77.
I can wait or I can take a chance with what you have now - what do you think?
Thanks.
