Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

I paid $1500. for my basketcase with a bed load of new parts. I had to order suspension pieces to get it up on wheels to roll home. It is rust free with what's left of the original yellow paint on it and some really dandy dents. As of now I have rebuilt the complete front suspension and steering with new '72 discs and lowered springs. I also put together a new 355 to go on the turbo 400. I'll drop that in Monday I hope, now that I have the brakes lines all run. Without adding up all of my reciepts I would estimate I'm pushing $5000. in the truck right now. Don't tell my wife. I told her I'd have it running for about $4000. but that was before I found that the old engine was junk.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

Got mine for free, put about $700.00 in it and sold it for 3,500,then bought it back for 500 with nothing wrong with it, and it included a 6"lift.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

Paid $800 for my 69 SWB back around 1986 and I am the second owner. Best investment I ever made. Only major outlays is one engine rebuild on the original 307 and then the new 350 crate last year. Still in original paint, although somewhat camo now with some primer to keep rust way until I can paint it.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

$5,000... and didn't make it home... we were rollin down the highway bout 30 minutes after we bought it and the crank chunked the bolt holdin the pulley and balancer on. Long story short I had an expensive motor fee and tow bill loomin over my head before I ever even got it in my driveway. Lookin back did pay too much but I'll never admit that to my dad. Have probably close to $10,000 or more wrapped up in it now and its been worth every penny. A lot of my friends ask me why I just didn't bag it and get somethin new and I just tell em that they don't understand.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

$800 from the wal-mart parking lot. The old 307 was only firing on 4 cylinders and the old 3 speed wouldn't go in to all the gears unless it was over 80 degrees outside. Tried like hell to run that old thing up enough to blow the engine but just couldn't do it.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

I paid $400 for it back in 1995. It was multi-colored with various year body parts from'67 to a 69 cab and a '69 GMC bed. It's on its 3 set of tires, second engine and I still use it.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

My father in law after bugging him for a couple of years finally agreed to sell me his truck ( but then wouldn't take any money for it ) but I had to promise him I would not sell it. When I got it the mileage was @ 51000 with virtually no rust and a mint interior other than the rubber mat.

Re: POLL... what did you pay for your truck?

$300 for 70 LB: no tailgate, non-running 305, bad radiator, windshield, pass fender, inner roof and bed, current garage queen with front clip off and getting rockers. $100 for 72 parts truck, everyone needs a parts truck. $600 for 68 short wide, $50 for fender, $40 for nice floor mat, parts from parts truck has it driving daily, been neglecting the garage queen LOL.

Don't keep track of what you have in them, you never get that for them. Time flies when you're in the garage.

I gave $500 for my 68,I traded my 1999 Harley for my 69 (had $12,000 in the bike,...I see it this way, they still make Harleys, they don't make 69 Chevy trucks anymore).I paid $200 for my 72 3/4 ton and $2200 for my ochre 72 1/2 ton.
