Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap
*UPDATE*
Rita's truck is finally running and driving. It only took just over a year and a half. We finished it up Saturday early evening. It's a stock 350 with an RV cam. Nothing special. The weight of the motor sat the front down nicely. After we hosed off the dust she drove it just around the corner and back, we had no coolant in it, apparently we stabbed a hole in the radiator either during disassembly or reassembly. The next step is to trailer it to my work so I can put it on a rack and reinstall the exhaust and do a safety check on it. Then it can get an alignment and it's ready to hit the road. The plan was to have it ready for the Goodguys show at the end of the month. She'll drive it as-is through the summer and we'll get the bed bodyworked, painted and get the bed wood done over the winter. One other need thing she did was add a Gennie Shifter knob and a vintage Sinko suicide knob. You can't see in the pic but the suicide knob has an old pic of a pinup girl in it. It's pretty neat.

AWESOME! I'm glad to see one of my favorite trucks on here back on the road! Get that bed straightened out, and put a fresh coat of satin black on it, and that puppy will be golden!

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap
Thanks guys, it was killing me not having this thing running for so long. I think the truck has just such a neat look to it I hated keeping it locked up in the garage. Our biggest issue was time since she is in school full time and working almost full time. I'm proud of her for sticking with this project and seeing it to the end. Or as close to the end as we can be for now.

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap
Hey, better late than never right? She's been driving it as often as she can right now, considering the price of gas. The truck is so much fun I was driving it this weekend while she was in Tennesse visiting her dad and brother. No one tell her, please!

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap
The long frame was actually bent so I stripped it of useable parts and cut it up for scrap. I did however sell the bed to a member, that I got from a member, so it's making the rounds.

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap
I think they split, he might have sold his truck and moved on. His Dad was on here a year or so ago.

Re: Rita's Rod Revival-SWB swap
^ x2. They split up and he had his blue & white truck up for sale a while back. They did get a double feature in a mag (can't recall which) while they were still together, though.
