I don't use it to scare people. Being from 57 they didn't care about decibels and its a lot louder than most on the tracks today. To many sue happy people out there. But yes it will get anyone's attention with a quickness

Thats one nice truck, love that red/orange paint and trick horn setup.

I have the same FiTech kit and I'm still debating on using the timing feature. I see you plan on using a MSD 85551 distributor. I guess that means you don't plan on using vacuum advance? I have been meaning to call and see if FiTech recommends using vacuuming advance when using the system for timing control.

It's hard to tell from your pictures but did youinstall that O2 sensor 10* above level as per the instructions? Not trying to pick on your work you have done an excellent job on that truck.

Re: FITECH EFI 600 Basic and Command center intall with pics, factory tank

I do not plan on using vacuum advance. I believe the fitech goes up pretty high in its advance set up. I did not install it 10 deg above center. I have done several several O2 sensors on my rides and several others and never had any trouble at the 90 angle. This one may be the one that proves me wrong but only time will tell. If you look close I have other O2 bungs there already. They were just to long to use

The computer takes care of mechanical and vacuum advance.

Edit.
It's my understanding that the computer handles both mechanical and vacuum advance.

The reason they want 10° is to keep moisture from collecting (sitting) on the sensor.
It can be straight up and from the top of the tube and it'll still work as well as 10°

Re: FITECH EFI 600 Basic and Command center intall with pics, factory tank

Also I just want to say the FITECH customer support is top notch. I just called them to see if I could get the decel pid to act a little faster because my truck is an standard. He told me these are set up for autos but immediately knew the parameter and values to put it to and try. Also he told me another parameter to watch for the absolute best idle blade openings. I work for Johnson controls and program for a living. It's nice to talk to someone that actually knows the configuration and pids and can immediately tell you where to look. These guys are top notch and not just salesmen. They make me feel like they built all the logic and have it on their rides.

No concerns here, I was just pointing out it can be mounted any which you want it's just for the moisture they recommend 10°

And it won't be the first time I lied to anyone......on purpose

I know and thank you for pointing it out but I knew it when I installed. I read the instructions 3 times lol. One thing I do not do is drive it short distances and shut it down. This may help in keeping them dry. If it does go bad I will cut the pipe and rotate it. No biggy.

Don't let me catch someone crossing a train track to slow cause they scared of bending their 26 inch rims. I have made a couple turn the tires to smoke that was dicking around.

Finally I tried boiling them and I still had to put out with all my might with vegetable oil on the fittings. Lets just say the hose or fitting will break before the connection.
I too have had issues with push lock hose and fittings. Having done several EFI installs that use them I knew I had to come up with a solution. Following are some pictures of my crude but cheap and effective gadget. I made mine out of aluminum because that is what I had. It could just as easily been made of steel. I have another handle with a fork on it for angle fittings but I can't find it right now.

I am doing a study find the best lube. So far I have tried motor oil, WD40, "O" Ring lube, JB80, and Joe Gibbs assembly lube. Results are inconclusive.

I would of paid good money for that the other night. Very cool design. I can favricate most tools and that may be my next addition if I ever have to do another EFI.

I'm unfamiliar with this.
Is this setup to press the fittings into the plastic injection hose?

That's just awesome. Grew up next to the Southern Pacific. Hijacked rides when the freight slowed down for the Siskiyou's, then down to Northern California to fish on the Shasta River. Sounded just like that. Just awesome.

It's not for the hard plastic OEM style fuel lines. It is for the rubber "push lock" type of hose and fittings that a lot of the aftermarket EFI systems use. They are very hard to install.

.
Funny, used to hike up the tracks to fish Shasta Lake. Back when it was still a lake.
