Re: lq4 6.0 swap into '85 Crew Cab Shorrbed
Nice swap, will be a blast with the turbo. Those 6.0s love boost!

Hehe there aren't too many LS motors that DON'T love boost. That being said, yes the ~9.4 comp makes for nice boosting. Even the higher compression configurations are remarkably resilient to abuse. (10.5ish for the LS2 iirc)

Re: lq4 6.0 swap into '85 Crew Cab Shorrbed
Haven't had too much time to work on Blue. She stayed the same pretty much through hunting season and has been parked on the side of the garage since. I've done 1 other swap on an '87 Army truck, and am in the process of putting a cam'd 6.0 in a '96 K1500 for a friend. I did however buy some Hummer gray Leather/power seats for her though. They'll be going in just as soon as the '96 is done. I also have the 4l80 i rebuilt with Hi-po clutches and the custom 2.97 1st gearset ready to go in her too.
Been just way busy with everybody else's projects and tuning, tuning, tuning. On another note, my '06 ended up putting down 503HP at the wheels on the dyno after getting the turbo in and dialing her in. I've since re-tuned one other crappily-tuned turbo'd silverado and a freshly installed e-force supercharged c-6 vette.

Re: lq4 6.0 swap into '85 Crew Cab Shorrbed
i'm guessing that he's talking about the .40" spacer that goes between the crank and flexplate. And the answer is no, because the lq4's come with them. There's a good chance the lq9's have the dished flex like the 5.3's since they were generally bolted to the 4l65/70 which had different spacing than the 4l80 which kept it's same spacing since 1991. So with an lq9, you'd probably have to find the .40" spacer and Flat flexplate. I have the part numbers for those if you need them.
