Unhappy Horrible gas mileage

I've been getting very crappy gas mileage in my 1981 350/th350/holley carb.

I just drove to work and back and used about a little under a quarter of a tank (24 mile round trip)

Is this what you guys experience with similar trucks?

I put air in all the tires this weekend, and took my tailgate off this morning.

Pic of my engine...

Things I am considering....

PCV Valve
New Spark Plugs
Spark plug wires (??)

Any thoughts? Is this normal should I get used to it??
