Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks
Sweet burb! I guess part of the dually fender on the passenger side will open up with the door? While your at it why not round off the openings to match the front fenders a little more?
I love me some ice cold Colorado Kool Aid!

With the rear passenger dually, it extends into the passender rear door. Just now it will go. Further onto the door. The problem is that it will cover up the door lock/handle so i guess i will buy a set of door poppers and shave the rear door and use a popper for the passenger doors since it comes in a set of 2. Ill still keep my driver door with the handle just incase there were to be a malfunction with the poppers ect. Let me know what ya think! Posted via Mobile Device |

Nice progress.
Personally, I liked the slammed street dually, but originality and custom definitely dominate this build.

Haha thanks man, yea to each his own i guess. Theres going to be a lot of people that think it is stupid or gaudy yadda yadda which is fine to me as long as they recognize and appreciate the fab work that went into it thats all i can ask for!

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks
So ive been meaning to post some more up to date pics but they were all on my phone. I get bad about not taking pics during the work cause i just get cought up in what im doing and documenting it is just an after thought. So heres where im at right now....
1. Clipped the drip pan off the sides and tach welded the roof down. 2. Replaced the rocker box on the drivers side. 3. Lots of little body work here and there filling gaps n such. 4. Building a tube frame chassis. All 2" .120 wall DOM tubing. |

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks
So in order to start building my tube frame chassis i needed a flat, level, and even surface in order to make sure the tube was all 100% square. So one of my friends has a shop where im going to build the chassis so i had to transport my old chassis and tires as well as material to his house...

Just tooling around pics with my helpers. Dude in the red shirt owns Mad Hatter Customs, does some legit work and sends a good bit of stuff off to SEMA every year. Old hippy guy with the white shirt is the owner of the shop who is graciously letting me using his space!

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks
Ah now for the chassis design stuff, i just started on saturday so its goin kinda slow but heres where im at as of last night 4/24/12, almost have one half done. An incredible amount of knotching and a huge learning curve!!! Not to mention that at 7 bucks a foot very expensive mistakes!

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks
Just more tubing pics. Last pic is a tube knotching software program called tube miter. Allows you to make accurate copes by entering the size of the materials being knotched together and angle... pretty sweet if your a cheap skate and dont want to shell out the cash for a trick tools knotcher!

Re: 540 BBC 68 Burb Dually 54" Boggers on Rocks
Just welding on some cheap pipe to make sure the gaps from the knotched copes would be able to be welded with out warping the material real bad...
