Re: C/30 Pics: Frame-Mount RVs
OK I finially found a motorhome thread. I just accuired a 68 that was made into a flatbed several years ago. They made the bed usuning the motorhome floor. It still has the walk through hole. The main reason I bought it is it still has its buddy buckets. I couldn't beleive it. This thing was used by a concrete contractor and fairly beat up but they never pulled the seats, even though the drivers side has no lower cushion, amazing. I also just got a 70 with a Eldorado camper. It has 39,000 miles on it and is virtually rust free. This one has A/C but the buckets are long gone. The PO started to remodel the camper but I'm tearing it down. It is actually pretty clean but I felt too far gone and I really didnt want a camper anyway. I want to put a flatbed on it since it is the shorter wheelbase C-30. I will get some pictures tomarrow. I'll be looking to try to sell the 68 Chassis soon. Some day maybe I'll find a nice one like some of these pictured and go fishin.

Re: C/30 Pics: Frame-Mount RVs
Look at the big Beaver on that! What a sweet frame mount of a top-of-the-line truck in fantastic condition. You don't see White trucks with Olive interior to often, either

Re: C/30 Pics: Frame-Mount RVs
Nice Open Road camper, same color interior and looks like same leaking areas. I do have you beat on mileage, my 68 has 29000 and some change. If I lived closer I'd like to see it, maybe make an offer on the old gal. good luck with the sale. P.S it can make a great in-law suite. lol

Re: C/30 Pics: Frame-Mount RVs
Wow, that one from New Mexico is like Deja Vu. My 68 (Homer) was exactly like that except longer, worse camper condition, 327, and 61,000 miles. Oh yeah, I paid a lot less too.
that camper was the cats sass in it's day. I think the skin fails and then the wood starts to rot.

Just to clarify, the C30 for sale in NM isn't mine. I listed it here in case a member was interested. I did join the club and bought the white Beaver 72 C30 BB Super shown above with help from Keith (Praisegeetarman) but won't see it until mid-Aug.

Re: C/30 Pics: Frame-Mount RVs
Guys, What gear ratios do these campers usually have?
I have '67 GMC 3500 with an Eaton Ho72 with 5.14's Single rear wheels 133" wheelbase. I wonder what cruising speed is for these rigs. |

Those Chinooks are the best survivors. I'm glad to see this thread brought back. This one reminds me of the '70 Custom Camper/30 I had. It was a Winnebago, so same gold paint. I bought the cab & chassis and put a low profile Reading utility body on it.

Here's an aluminum top that rolls it off the side like a Chinook

Re: C/30 Pics: Frame-Mount RVs
i love these frame mount campers. I've always got an eye out for them, both in yards/driveways, and on the web. They are far and few between here on the east coast though. My personal favorite is the Chinooks, but I love the deck feature on the Open Road models. One Day, I'll get one, and cruise it all the way to Alaska
