We finished up the body work on the passenger side door jam. I was able to take out the gas tank and welded up the gas tank hole.

Yeah, that would be a good fit for this truck since it was originally used by Georgia Power to read meters.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

Got a question, when you rolled the skin over on the door shell did you roll the edges right up against the lip of the shell? I noticed my door the skin fold is wider than the shell edges so i hesitated to try a re-skin. any tips appreciated!

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

After vacation and back to school we finally had time to work on the truck. Welded and smoothed the seams on the windshield frame, then we started welding in the floor pan, and getting the rocker to fit.

We are on the fence about the 6 cylinder and 4 speed (Yellowsun still has to learn to drive a straight shift). Right now we are concentrating on the body.

Thanks Pete! So far for the money, the door skins fit good. There's nothing that a little cutting and welding won't fix.

Re: 1970 Chevy C10 pickup

I got the passenger side quarter panel stripped then washed with 3 parts water and 1 part vinegar. Then we sprayed some black epoxy primer on it.
