Yes that is looking very nice. At first I didn't think I would like those tail lights, but I do like them.

Re: New tail lights what do you guys think?

when I read the title, I thought "oh no, someone butchered another stocker!!" - then I looked at the thread. Wow, I think those look great!! Beautiful job on the bodywork. You may have started a fad. I mean trend. Very cool.

That looks fantastic in primer. It is so well executed it could almost pass for stock without the lamp installed.

Thanks guys! I'm going for a stock look but subtle custom touches. The tail lights I think are really gonna set it apart.

Re: New tail lights what do you guys think?

Did you buy a kit for the lights? Just wondering how you fab'd the buckets. Nice work, I was thinking of changing out my lights also. Are you keeping the B/U lights also?

Not really a kit. I have a 52 pontiac chieftain that I shaved the tail lights off of and did some 59 caddy lights on it. I had the stock ones hanging on the wall and they just kept calling me. Then i ran across these buckets and it was meant to be!!
http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1950-P...kets,5141.html
So I ordered those and 2 of these http://www.speedwaymotors.com/1950-P...mbly,3079.html

Plasma cutter welder and the rest is history! B/U lights will be some glass lens lights from a peterbilt type chicken hauler stuff stay tuned!!

Those tails look perfect on there. I like how the round light matches the curve of the bedside

Re: New tail lights what do you guys think?

Not trying to hijack your thread but I just installed mine too, thanks for the idea! BTW, where did you put your access hole? I wasn't sure if I cut it right behind the lights if I could get my hand all the way in there... Guess I don't have much choice now, haha.

I will be honest, I was nervous as hell because I didn't realize how close these come to the inside edge by the tailgate. I think it turned out well though. I can't wait to get mine painted! I'm looking forward to seeing yours in paint too. Did you shave your trim also? I made my long bed into a short bed and shave all the trim.

I just cut the back support for clearance. I have not decided on trim yet. Its so expensive to buy but i really like it! Not sure what to do yet!

Re: New tail lights what do you guys think?

Have you made any more progress on this? I've done a lot but I still have a long way to go. I'm trying to get my painted by the end of next month but I have a long way to go. Just wondering if you finally painted yours.

Sorry for the delay in response!! I am an otr truck driver so life has been in and out. But anyways the bed sits done. I am in the process of moving to myrtle creek oregon so the bed and truck can be united! Gonna work on the bed floor then decide on color and trim. Have to get the motor swapped and 700r4 in then cosmetics.
