Where are the junkyard pictures I expected to see? I must say I'd rather look at these pictures. I just haven't seen any junk,only treasure. A junkyard is a place full of junk. Think late-model plastic and cardboard

Wow, didn't realize there were still that many around that have older vehicles. Certainly none in my area. Very cool to see them. Maybe time for a road trip

Great thread. I think we like junkyard pics so much because people like us see the endless possibilities, what could be...we're all dreamers in the sense that we want to save them all!

Jlaird- I see you are from upstate. Did you by chance ever make it to Gaba's? It was over towards Saratoga. I was up that way a couple months ago but seems I was a year too late. Guy I spoke to said they had 11,000 vehicles before they had to crush'em all. It brought a tear to my eye. I just would like to hear from someone who may have seen it in all it's glory.

I've driven my the Gaba sign a hundred times and never knew it was a salvage yard. (Can't see anything from the road) I think it just says Gaba Auto Parts. I'll have to stop by the next time I'm out that way. It's on my way to Saratoga.

Sometimes it's amazing what you don't know is right in your backyard!

Good eye - also, the truck in the first pic with the utility box is actually a one ton and it also has a tach dash...

I'm not used to good luck but every once in a while it happens. I didn't grab much from the yard - actually, what I needed was a headlight switch for my 1999 Suburban that I broke with my knee. I did grab this though, the climate up here is good to steering wheels
