Re: Body dropped 67 swb Service truck

Here's been the plan for the truck.

It has a long bed frame cut down, z'd 3in in the front and 5 in the rear. Kp components notch. Stock trailing arms with 3in lowering blocks. Frame was cleaned using an arbor disk and grinder. Painted it with a semi gloss black tractor paint. It has new ball joints, bushings, body mounts, brakes, brake lines, fuel lines, new cab corners and rockers. Aluminum radiator. I switched the transmission from three on the tree to a th350. Two piece driveshaft and new carrier bearing. The exterior will stay the same except I'm going to fix the paint on the back right corner of the cab and the missing lettering on the doors. For now um running the stock wheels and keeping the original interior. As far as air ride I'm trying to find some used stuff. I'm trying to build the truck using under $2000 dollars. Right now I'm at $1400 including the cost of the truck. Thanks for all the comments.

Re: Body dropped 67 swb Service truck

Last night I built some lowering blocks and bent some u bolts. Made the blocks four inches tall. I also started modifying the front lower control arms. Since I'm on a budget and the front wouldn't lay out because the bag would stop it I modifyed the arms and built a pocket in them. Their not finished yet but I'm going to finish them today. The trucks going to have alot of camber when at a real low stance but ill have to deal with it until I can afford Spindles and arms.

i think it would be cool to "put back" some lettering on the door, whether its a ficticious garage or a old defunct gas station. Go to a old school SIGN PAINTER, and have him re-letter it then weather it to match the old stuff...
just an idea. Truck looks wild. Good luck on the build.

Re: Body dropped 67 swb Service truck

Great truck man! In the picture by the 66; besides the 3" and 5" z of the frame, what other lowering parts have been used? Could it have been driven without the bags? Great work, keep it up.

The truck was originally from Claude's shell station . I plan on putting that back on the doors. You can still see the letters vaguely when up close on the truck. I plan on painting the words and striping the truck here in the next few weeks.
