Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

Those seats are sweet!
I looked back through your thread but did not see where you mentioned what those seats came out of.... sorry to ask if you have already said but I really like the looks of them.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

It has been awhile since I have made an update. Between the winter weather and the rust that I keep finding on my cab I have not made any progress. When the snow and ice leaves if it every does I am going to bring my other cab in the shop and start pulling it apart. Maybe it will not have as must rust as this one.

Ok, so I was not the only one that looked at that and thought "dang, I would build that one too..."

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

That was my first truck it has a 6 cylinder powerglide. The PO was about to send it to the crusher so I saved it. It looks like it will be most of the build except for the roof.

Man, That will Buff Out!!!

Stay Warm… We're forecast to get 2-4 more inches of Frozen Sunshine Monday into Tuesday and my motivation Factor is about -10... On the bright side, this coming weekend is forecast to me in the mid 50's... Looking forward to some truck time!!!

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

Thanks for the two cents. I need lots of that. I will post pics tomorrow of both of the cabs and their rust. You guys can take a look at them and tell me what you think.

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

Best take a metal rod to poke with too.... better to find bad rust that way, than when your wire wheeling grinder jumps out of your hands and disappers into a hole it just made in a rust pocket.....

Not that I have any experience with that mind you.... and not that I would squeal like a little girl if it did happen to me..... but if it did....

Well, you get the picture

Re: Newbie with a 65 Chevy

Decisions, Decisions…
I would evaluate the structural integrity of them both and go for the best…

Looks like the Cab corners from the red one could be donors for the damage on the blue one...
