Re: 68 Suburban Coolbus Build/maintain.
I like the direction your build is going: down.
I have had my suburban for three years now and have enjoyed hauling the family and friends around.

Re: 68 Suburban Coolbus Build/maintain.
Very nice looking 'burb, and you got a killer deal on it. I'd love to find an older one like that. So much cooler than my 96! But I'm kinda the opposite direction guy, I want a 4x4, country living and low riders just don't mix. I think it's great it's your DD family rig!

Re: 68 Suburban Coolbus Build/maintain.
Anybody need a left testicle? I'd so like a 'Burb but I just can't find one over here apart from modern ones. Can't afford to import one at the moment either. Can't fit the family in my truck now.

Re: 68 Suburban Coolbus Build/maintain.
Thanks for the compliments everyone. Yeah I got a sweet deal on it and I am making progress...finally!
I would love a 4x4 model of what I have now, but they keep closing down all the 4x4 areas around here and unless its a tube buggy it isnt gonna make it many places around these parts. I dont even ride my ATV much anymore because they shut down more than 3/4's of the off road park riding area locally. My kids love the Bus and we try to go out as a family quite a bit to cruise and hang out.

Suicide doors supplies the brackets. It's coming around, needs some more stuff cleaned up. Cant wait to get some sounds in it, we are currently music-less. Would like to carpet it, and re-do the seats in a stock pattern. In fact if anyone has a stock radio laying around working or not I would be very interested. I need to fill in the radio area with something.

Re: 68 Suburban Coolbus Build/maintain.
Well I'm laid up on the couch after a 2nd degree tear of my MCL in my right knee. I aggravated it after returning to playing as a goalie in hockey after a 12 year hiatus. Im 32 now and looks like my knee and my mind had two different ideas of how flexible I was. Sucks because I had only got to play 3 games out of the pre-paid season and am now out till January at the very minimum.
Oh well... anyhow here is a sneaky shot of my Suburban that I just took while I was sitting around feeling sorry for myself and instantly I felt better after seeing my pride and joy! Sooo im gonna load up the kids and go for a drive!

Cool. My little girls (1 1/2 and 4 at the time) were a little frightened whenever I would rev up the truck but then giggled about it later

Re: 68 Suburban Coolbus Build/maintain.
The knee is shot. It is getting better but taking a hell of a long time to get better!
I have enough fabric to do the rear 1/4's too soooo the entire inside should be done sometime today or tomorrow. Just need to figure out a carpet solution soon.

Sweet! That bamboo carpet is pretty interesting. Not sure if it flows or contrasts with the Mexican blanket seat covers.
