It's looking good! What kind of 37s are you going with, hummer tires?

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
honestly, I'm just trying to find tires for cheap as of now. I'm only 18 and graduate next month. So any tire that is atleast a 35. would be nice.
I start welding in july and i'm sure i'll afford some tsl's. but for winter I was to run trxus 35's

I couldn't see anything bigger than a 33" for a 15" rim.

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
looking good little man up in SK! nice to see a youngin interested in IRON and not Ricers with a fart can!!
At your age i was interested in BREWS and BABES.... as i learned both will leave you empty with nuthing to show for it.. a good Chevy truck will endure! I'm jealous for bein way up north, your steel (frame) and body are alot less rusty than down here in Upstate NY home of the SALT mine! and for $500c ! im about 100 miles ESE of Toronto across the lake. looking good man... if you look on this site a while you will find answers to your questions... check out my 73 K5 build in this section... Rock on Bro.. ( Hears The Guess Who in my head now)..

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
The 33's are discontinued. They sell everything in 16's though, and for the price it is worth the change. Even most of the good Bias Ply tires are going to 16/17 these days. I plan to pick up some 6-lug 16's for my truck for this simple fact. Sucks because I have 8 15x10 Outlaw II's that aren't as useful as they used to be...
glimmertwin01- The rust is a trade off, I think. We get rusty rockers, and doors, but all those dry area guys seem to have more dings, dents, and dimples then a fat womans rear...

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Picked up a cab visor for 50 bucks t the local pick a apart. Also got my few bolts and shock mounts i've lost over the months.
All i gotta do now is extend a fuel line a little bit and try hooking up the battery.. I sure as hell hope the tranny shifts well. and I haven't check the brakes yet so i'm also hoping that they aren't too bad..

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Is it wierd that i'm afraid to start it?
I'm also a little confused on how to do the vaccuum lines.. I need to: Route hard lines from tranny to rad finish up the fuel line rad fluid gear oil tranny oil Bolt bed down wire up the distributor.. Also realized now that i put the wrong mounts on the cab.. so its un even with the bed.

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
The visor is off just a little bit on one side. Enough for me to want me to go back and drill a few more holes. No need for a lift anymore. Started to route tranny lines. Not sure if it matters which ones go where? I'm guessing top goes with top of rad and bottom goes with bottom of rad? Not sure what these two things are?? I know that i don't need them. One looks like a vent or something. and no idea what the wires are for.

Re: 79 Silverado long box build
Well As I thought. The project has come to a hault.. Tried to put it into gear and got no movement. Had the truck in park and realized i could push it around.
The truck has been towed to my house and is sitting in my driveway.. Me and a buddy decided to rip out the tranny to find that there is a sleeve that goes from the tranny to the t-case. The sleeve is stripped to poop. 108$ fix. Also I'm going to replace the shaft on the T-case as it is a bit stripped aswell. Might as well do it right the first time. so With the tranny and t case out of the truck i decided to paint it black and silver. I'll upload a pic when im done.
