If it really was done by GM, I'd be tempted to leave it alone. If it was done by a conversion company, I'd be tempted to swap out the bed and extend the frame for a regular shortbed.

I think all of them were done by conversion companies. Usually the person/company that wanted the truck ordered it at the dealer and it was dropshipped to the conversion company.
I saw one without back doors in TeePee autowrecking about 20 years ago and it was cracked/rusted out around the seams where the cab had been lengthened. It was interesting but too far gone to be worth fixing due to other damage to the cab. I'd vote for stretching the frame and putting on a regular length shortbox either fleetside or stepside. I am leaning toward stretching the frame.
I have a sweeeet short step bed that i have been saving for about........8 years. That is prob what will happen. Not much rust on it. What you see is the worst. As it spent most of its life in Nevada. The trailer Andy and i hauled it home on was the same trailer that i hauled it home from Reno, NV on. Man, that was a road trip................

if you put a full short fleetside bed on it, it would look more proportioned. cool truck. if you get tired of it again I would be interested in it

not a c10 thing but i havent heard teepee auto wreckings name in awhile.i bought my 70 fm3 paint code roadrunner out of there in 89.a plumcrazy 70 charger was sittin right next to it as well.
