like the 4 bolt main motor, i read that u don't want 2 over heat 882 casting, they r prone 2 get heat cracks around the exhaust seats, unless they have harden seats installed when they were rebuilt at the machine shop.Good castings # 041,186,these r 64cc,close chamber,#993 r open chamber 76cc which r good heads to use, your build is taken shape.keep pictures coming & keep on truckin''

Good to know. I'm not to concerned about it. Motor will be mostly stock and just used as a cruiser. Still haven't decide what I'm going to do about the motor. I keep seeing complete ready to run stuff for sale...

It will be a summer project, so I've got some time to decide.

No updates to be seen. Been putting in lots of overtime at work and haven't felt like messing with it. The cold and snow isn't helping either.

I'm slowly collecting parts. I'll report back when I feel I've made some progress. It will be a month or two I would guess.

Re: Project "5th try"

A bit of progress. Got the front suspension back together and a 15X7 rally test fitted. It's tight but it works. The 4" back spacing of an 8" rally would hit the lower control arm on the lower arms. Once the primer drys on my bumper brackets I can get some black on them and install them.

Scored a almost complete set of side trim of a truck I parted. Also kept the gas tank and the windshield out of it.

I've got new bed cross sills so I can get the bed assembled and bolted on. Now I need to decide weather I'm going to wait till I can get the firewall finished and painted or just go ahead and bolt the front sheet metal back on.

Waiting on parts to sell and some cash to accumulate so I can get the front tires, steering column, brake lines and parts, and the air ride stuff ordered. I'll just keep working on it when I can and it will get done eventually.

The 6.5" Van ralleys have a 4" BS just like the 8" ralleys.
The 7" ralleys only have a 3-5/8" BS.

Re: Project "5th try"

High hump and bed cross sills done. Pulled the windshield and started to prep the used one for install. Really need another set of hands to get the seal on and to install it. Hopefully I can find some help next week.
