Re: My 66 Kustom
Finally I have something new to post! So I decided to ditch the watts-link b/c it was limiting some suspension travel when the airbags were fully inflated. To fix this I made a telescoping wishbone. I got some DOM tubing and machined it down and added some zerk fittings to keep it well greased
Here it is mocked up Tanks, comps and fuel cell are now mounted stripped it down for some paint. I also capped off the end of the telescoping portion and added a vent hose. Now I just need to get a shock boot to cover the slider to keep dirt out

Re: My 66 Kustom
I am thinking about keeping the 6, but changing to a single 4 barrel and new manifold. The triple deuce hits the firewall now that the front of the chassis has been "Z'ed". I have the carb already, that's why I'm thinking about going that way. Any thoughts would be great. I'm trying to finish the airbag plumbing and brakes right now. Next will be moving the steering shaft away from the upper arm. I have a buddy that I might be able to get an old Chevy till column from. Then the rest of the plumbing. Thanks.

Re: My 66 Kustom
Lets bring this thing back from the dead!!
I am now the new owner of this truck, I'll get some updated pics soon maybe even start my own thread. But as of now it's in a million pieces again, getting all the suspension kinks worked out and should be movin up n down here purdy soon! The pimp gold 6 is for sale along with the carbs and few different intakes that came along with it of course a small block is getting put in it's place specially after I found out the oil pan was the first thing to drag.... No bueno!! New motor, PB hood hinges, mar k hinges and latches and a roll pan are just the begining of what's to happen. |

Re: My 66 Kustom
Haven't really decided, paint needs to be finished regardless.... I was gonna see ifi could salvage the flake.... not a big fan of the purple lace job but it fits the truck nicely!
Paint is the last thing on my list for now, everybolt on the front end needs to be tightened and the steering has some clearence issues that I need to work out along with building a new steering shaft to clear the a arm. And I need to box the front end where it was z'd..... Still needs work! |
