Progress on my fight against rust

Just thought I'd share a few photos of the rust repair I've been doing on my new cab for my truck. I'm doing the rust repair on a cab and then doing a cab swap to cut down on the time my truck is apart, plus this one is an air cab with an uncut radio hole.

I'm only on the passenger side for now, here I'm fitting the new rocker. I welded a brace in since I'd be removing a long section of floor, I didn't know if it would move anything out of wack or not so I figured I'd play it safe and weld one in.





I've replaced the kick panel, lower A-pillar, and from about 4'' in from the inner rocker, from the toe board to the back of the cab. I cut the floor patch in half just to make fitting it easier for me since I'm no expert.

Here's where I'm at now, a few friends came over and we flipped the cab on it's back so I could do the cab supports. I'll do all four now so we only need to flip it back one more time. I have the front in and the rear mocked up ready to weld, then I just have the outer rocker, cab corner, and the other side to do.





It's amazing how time consuming this is, I work on it a few hours a week when I have time. The nice thing about doing it this way is when, not if, I get frustrated, I can go inside and forget about it and come back fresh another day. No deadline, but I don't want to drag it out either.
