Re: explanation of screen names
Mine comes from a nickname that I have had for many years. If you ever see me in person it will be very obvious.
Truck drivers would come into the warehouse where I worked looking for the "shipping/receiving guy". They would ask the first person they saw...and that person would point down some aisle and say "Look for the guy with...." |

Mine is another original, Barry is my first name, and B is the first letter in my last name.

Re: explanation of screen names
I got my 70 Nova when I was 16 and my sisters called it the Beast. Back in 99 when I first got on the net I set up an email account on Yahoo, I wanted to use 70beast but they won't let it start with a # so my name was born.

In the early 1950's, Elvis Presley, coined the phrase "Takin' Care of Business" and it soon became a catchphrase between him and his entourage. It eventually became shortened to "TCB" and Elvis had many personalised items of jewelery and clothing made, using this logo. also.... Elvis Presely's back up band from '69 to '77. Yes, I dig Elvis.....

Re: explanation of screen names
My first name is Lincoln so a lot of people have called me Abe over the years. Then my Last name is Bumgarner, and my brothers nickname was Bummy. So some of his freinds were helping out when I was in basketball camp, so they called me Bummy its stuck ever since. And my birth day was on friday so the 26 comes into play there.

Re: explanation of screen names
When I found this site my K10 was pretty much as it is now but I was searching for lowering info for my C10. I had to come up with something truck related and I didn't want to just go with a year or my initials. So I went with SEE TEN which was also already on my license plate. It was actually my fourth choice of six on the application but I'm really glad I ended up with it now. The pic I'm currently using in my avatar is of an ad with a picture of a truck that looks just about like mine that I've been trying to find. I started a thread in the parts section trying to see if I could get some assistance with the search. So far I've come up dry but I have posted a ton of other old advertisements in that thread....I think I'll go bump it up now.

Re: explanation of screen names
My given name is Patrick. When I started on the internet some years ago user names with my name and car or truck model were taken. So out of frustration and to honor the person that taught be my basic automotive skills in the 50's I decided to use my grandfathers first name and middle initial OrrieG. I always hung around with him as a kid and he was always tinkering or trying to get some old Chevy or Jeep running or repaired. We would go to the local wrecking yard inpound auctions and buy cars for $25 and get them running and sell them for $100. I learned how to do basic diagnosis, tuning, valve adjustment, cooling system repairs and brakes from him. Most of the cars need something simple, water pump, tune up, maybe a bearing or suspension problem. He also used to tell me his stories of being on the road with his brothers during the depression because there was no work at home and they were just another mouth to feed. Also abouthow to keep the 30's and 40's cars running, real Grapes of Wrath stories. He died in 1962 and I really miss not having him around when I was old enough to appreciate him even more. I did not find out that he had been a teamster running six horse rigs with supplies to the mines and oil rigs out of Casper Wyoming in the 20's until much later in life. He never talked about that time of his life.

Re: explanation of screen names
When I first got internet and needed an email address, I tried to put in my name. When it said that was taken it made some suggestions and rstewart06 was one of them so I just took it. After that it was just easier to use that on forums I got into. Only problem was when I signed up here I hit 9 instead of 6 for some reason. That took me a couple of days to figure out why I couldn't sign in. Rather than change it I just let it ride.

Re: explanation of screen names
My grandfather bought this 1968 C-10 used in 1969. Then he gave it to me in 2007 with the promise that I would give it to my son (3 years old at the time). So it's MINE 4 NOW!! But everthing done to the truck has to be approved by both of them. This is the look I get when I do something wrong to his "Big Grandpa's" truck.
