Re: My 82 shortbed
Now we still wanted to be able to crank it up and up and move it if we had to. and since the cab was already shot me and my uncle came up with this genius plan. Completely cut the cab in a 4th around the steering column and put a bolt back in the bottom of it were it bolts up the the frame. And just left the shift linkage hanging next to it.

Not only can you say you built it, you will know every bolt on it and can fix almost anything yourself....compared to the kid that had his parents buy him a BMW 3-series and has to pay $200 just to get the oil changed!!

Re: My 82 shortbed
About load it up and scrap it.. hate to kill a piece of history but it was way to far gone. scrapped it along with the hood, core support, and drive door ( were banged up pretty bad too...) got a whole 50 bucks for them how great.

Re: My 82 shortbed
Everyday im not working im outside getting something done.. right after school its right back to working on it. Im learning as im going with the help of my uncle. makes me do almost every little bit myself cuz he said he already knows how and the only way to learn is to do it... when i started i basically knew the basic crap.. now i amaze myself at what i know. i used to be one of those kids listening to people talk about motors and cars and be lost on the topic. now im the one talking about them and relising who im talking to , is as lost as i used to be... lol funny how it works

Re: My 82 shortbed
Wasn't sure what i was doing the suspension at the time but started cutting off the rivets holding the bumpers above the rear end on. once i cut the heads off i beat at it from the side and after a bunch of hits it eventually came out
