I'll take a final version if they are all not spoken for yet.

Thanks,

Re: 70-71 Valve Cover Decal

I hate to even bother you with this question but it seems like you may have the lead that I need. I am wanting the same decal only with 400 instead of 350. Any help or leads would be appreciated.

No bother at all.

It would take a little bit to produce one as the font was recreated by hand by a graphic artist...so it's not as simple as typing in "400" and going to press. It clearly could be done and I'm sure the guys who helped me with this could do it...but you'd have a couple of hundred in it at least in design time. Not as much as starting form scratch, but they'd have to do the "4". I don't have a "400" decal pic to go by and am not sure they made one like this for a "400". Though SSTim might have a literature pic of one, we'd have to guess at what the "4" would look like. Since the big block valve cover was so different, I am suspicious that an 8:400 decal was produced since these fit perfectly on the raised portion of the valve cover on the 307s and 350s, for which we have several examples. (I think they do reproduce an INVADER400 decal that's of similar dimension, but again, not sure if any trucks left the factory with that decal...probably wrong, more knowledgeable members chime in)

Member Steve Hafner has done the most work on collecting survivor pics and documenting these decals. Also member davepl has the best survivor 400 decal I've seen and it was on his 70 GMC. In conjunction with his work a similar 427 decal was documented on a low mileage medium duty truck. You'll be able to find these pics I'm sure with a simple search of the site.

A red "400" decal may be the correct decal for your application, I don't know for sure. Some of these decals seem hit and miss from the factory and long since evaporated from the engine bays.

I reproduced these decals for my build and have offset some of my cost by offering spares up for sale on the board. I don't know if there'd be as big a market for a "400" decal since there were less big blocks....but if you want to make one, I'm happy to help....and if you do a red one, I'll bet davepl would want one too.

Received my stickers today. They arrived safely and look great! Now I just need an engine to put one of them on.

Thanks!

Been off the board building a new office. Finally done. Had a chance to get a few printed. So if you need one, LMK.

Re: 70-71 Valve Cover Decal

I have a '71 Suburban with the 350. Were there decals on both valve covers? Either way I would like to buy either one or two depending on how many are needed. Please send me a PM.

Thank you very much.

Only one on the passenger side valve cover. Requires the single port valve cover with the port positioned on the firewall side.
