Pretty truck. Real question how much you have in it now
Just for reference I paid. $ 374 for this in 1984 . But I've most likely have 30k invested without my labor I did the entire car. Takes a pile of these

That's the same paint job I bought it with 25 years ago, the wheels are cheap steel Les Swab's, the transmission was in a $900 '73 pickup that somebody hit and totaled and paid me for. The 350 engine was rebuilt using TRW forged pistons and "fuelie" heads with hardened valve seats, and blah, blah, blah, and is still going strong with good oil pressure, for around $1200 years ago. And that's pretty much it. |

Re: How much did your truck cost>
I paid 3000 for mine in 2011. And have put a bundle of money in it. All my family See's is an old truck. When I tell them what I could get for it, they look at me like I am lying. I can't go anywhere with out some body wanting to buy it. I am having too much fun with it to sell any time soon.

Re: How much did your truck cost>
Bought mine from a Chevy dealer 43 years ago and can't recall the exact price but I believe it was $3300. It was my DD until I retired, and lot more has been spent on it since I bought it.
Still in paint prison and if I ever get it back, I figure it will be worth...... a heck of a lot less than I have poured into it!

Of course there are a few maintenance items that have added to the cost of operating this truck over the years, like the 4 wheel drum brake master cylinder I had to replace last month. (after 51 years the dang thing was entitled to leak a little) I have 2 tool boxes bolted to the fenderwells so that was a breeze! Replaced the rotted bed wood with a sheet of plywood with polished stainless strips on top for looks. (the plastic tubs are for grocery shopping) The high back buckets were obtained from a salvage yard for $35 and I put an 8" Rockford Fosgate sub in between them for a killer stereo system! The truck was originally an OD green Bell Telephone work truck, and every now and then I'll find traces of that paint, (like above the master cylinder) but somebody did a really thorough paint job on it. Just checked the odometer and it says 88429 miles, and I do remember watching with glee as it turned over long ago. This is my daily driver, so it has held up very well indeed! After seeing what some tired '67-'72 trucks are going for on craigslist these days, I am kind of curious what my truck might be worth now... NOT THAT I'D EVER SELL IT!
