Re: razorback red... buildup

of course you do this now... now that i've got almost everything apart for the rear notch... well, it looks like itll all go back together so i can make it. i wont be there until around 7 or 730 so im sure all the really fun stuff will be done (or just getting started...)

Count me in, probly just myself though. I'll have the wife whip up some cookies or brownies or something.

Is it cool to tell some other folks that aren't on this board?

thanks for the feedback fellas. especially from dinos63, your builds are outragious and your comments are really appreciated.

Re: razorback red... buildup

friday i got the truck in paint and shot another coat on the cab, this one turned out smooth and should take very little buffing. then this morning at the crack of dawn i laid down a buttermilk coat of dupont 99 black. very very smooth...
this is only the 2nd truck to get painted in this place and every time i fire up the fans and wash down the room the jobs get a little cleaner. and as i get used to the conditions, the paint lays down a little nicer. i'm 60 something now and maybe in my 80's i will be able to do a decent paint job...

anyway, it's something to set our sights on.

doors ( in the foreground) got the treatment too but will mount and get a photo after hanging them.

Re: razorback red... buildup

Love the color scheme your doing. I'm slowly working on a 1964 SWB BBW truck that has a simular pattern to it. I'm doing my interior black though instead of the fawn, but really dig your color scheme!

Re: razorback red... buildup

Clem
Doesn't look like I will be able to make the trip..... Been in the E.R. and found out I not only have kidney stones in both kidneys, but a cyst on my left kidney also. I cannot find a comfortable position to sit, stand, lay, crawl.....

If I pass them tonight I will be there, but I am not thinking I will move them all.

Next year for sure and hopefully ol' blue will be in tip top shape by then.

I brought my 327 home from the shop Wednesday night, got it on a stand in the Garage then Thursday on the way to work the kidney stones hit.

Can't wait to see the build in person

Re: razorback red... buildup

well, lets see... june. hot as hell outside. record heat already...

progress on red was mostly assembly. dash stuff, wiring, radiator and shroud, hoses and steering column.

did spray bed liner on the backside of both fenders and did a test fit.

Re: razorback red... buildup

also got the doors mounted and this can be nerve racking, lots of chances to scratch paint... but we got lucky. also the line between red and black was a guess at best, lowest level in the natural body line. and it was spot-on. feel like luck was with us again.

the wiring and brake lines are a snap if you got a lift. mine is older than me and still works great. i do like a center post lift.
