Re: Project High Life Light.

Pulled the 64 onto the concrete and gave it a good bath. Got all the funk off of it so that it will be easier to work on. I'm going to go ahead and repair the rust. Since most of the rust is on the bottom half I think I'm going to use bedliner on it to make it a little tuffer and stop future rust.

The badges say it's a 65 but it is a 64. I havent decided weather I'll take them off and leave them off or put 64 badges on it.

Re: Project High Life Light.

How much did that one cost? Looks to be in good shape. Your going to need a bigger shop.

Re: Project High Life Light.

I do need a bigger shop. Should have gone 30'x50' intead of 30'x30'. But it's all good. When the 64 is done it probaly wont fit threw the door any way. "note to self. Put the small tires on before pulling out of shop and stay out of parking gerages." It's a P.O.S. I'll have to rewire the whole thing and probaly tweek with the motor a bit. But rewireing these trucks is easy. I have a better loom in the shop for it. The 64 now is like the 65 was before I fixed it.

Re: Project High Life Light.

I know. I was going to just put it together and have my work/play truck. But I'm getting caught up in the old 1/2 ton axles are ok but 1 tons are better. That smoking 350 will work but that 400 would be better. 2'' lift is ok but 5" is better. 31" tires are ok but 35s are better. It's tuff to keep it simple.

The higher you go the more it cost. It depends on your funds.

Re: Project High Life Light.

Got more done today. The cab is a P.O.S. I got a lot of work ahead of me. The motor is nasty. But I'll let the machine shop deal with that beast. They can clean it up. The 64 bed is just sittin there. I'm going to cut out the bottom of the 84 bed and weld it to the 64 bed befor I line it all up and mount it.

Re: Project High Life Light.

Hey Jason get me a job working with you. And I'll bring my truck up there and help you out in the shop. Oh and I'll bring my welder too. Or you can just adopt me. I know your not a OU fan so that will work with me cuz I'm wearing a UT shirt right now.
