Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
yay! weather is finally picking up, slowin down on the builds now.
like i said, another revell reject. dont know why they insist on punching holes all over the body. also note the total lack of cab ribbing also removed that ugly molded in visor, a real one is going on same miserable story inside. dont have any more spare tubs so i'll haft to make do. notice no window cranks or handles...a little bit of plastic, a little bit of glue... |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
SWEET! these nice 8 lug slots for my van showed up in the mail today-whats more '70's than these on a van!
think i went a little overboard with the styrene on my flatdeck.not a 100% sure on this, still have to add side markers, maybe a change or 2 if those taillights look vaguely familiar, think '97 vette |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
have'nt been getting a lot done lately, spring finally came & making up for some lost hrs & have also been unstoring the truck & camper
did get more junk in the mail. some more 38's for the dually, a t-case for it, some drum brake backing plates, some d60 parts & a set of 44's for another project. not shown are 2 D60 axles & a lund visor supposed to be a front & rear D60 axle set. somewhere somehow i ended up with 2 rear axles. not going to send a $2 part back, so some cutting, some careful drilling... revell cheaped out on the stock duallys, just an inner & outer rim & squeeze the tires against each other. made some liners/spacers, whatever you want to call them, keeps the tires way more solid, & i can gap them now. once there black should'nt be able to see them |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
some more details
did'nt like the antennea's, wrapped them in wire & instant glue to make them look like the old "Firestik" style. digging threw the parts box found these cool little lights, think i will add them to the mirrors. twin snorkeled my air cleaner, will sand off the aic valve, put some linkage on the 205, & used a ford exploder alternator. scratched out some visors again got rid of the gumby fender mounted master cyc., added a real one, a wiper motor, & a heater box. h.box is actually a (again) ford exploder oil pan, will do some more mods to it. that ford has ended up on about 5 chevy trucks now! getting the stance for the rear leafs |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Ol Blue. was hoping to have it together, but with the humidity it's taking forever for the base color to cure.
dont have everything needed to do my '72 chev wrecker, so i printed up these decals. think black chevy van (on 49" iroks of course). i do have everything for the van, so it be my next clunker |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
putting stripes on the dually cab is taking a little longer than i thought. did get the 427 mounted, t-case, d.shafts, all that stuff is in. hope my cab clearence lights hurry up & get here.
while been waiting for stuff to dry, started screwing around with my van just working out a graphic plan with paper patterns, pretty sure this one is going to be.....surprise, surprise, black (fav color). got some big honkin' iroks for it too |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Ol Blue! weather was stellar this week, been cranking off some big hrs.
but i did manage to get the dually 97% done. prob fri or sat have it cleaned up. had a old '71 econoline when i was 17 or 18, bashed the fenders out a bit & had some old wildcat mud tires on it, nothing like this chev, they were about a couple inches bigger than the stock 15's. there's this place down the valley called S.W.A.T. 4x4, there was a early '80's chev van parked out front sitting on what looked like 44's a couple yrs ago. thing looked totally awesome, pretty much got the whole idea from it |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
thanks Ol Blue!
going to try finish this one, then shut down till next winter thought i would just change out the tires & add a funky paintjob, but now i need to narrow the axles, add a bit more lift, and i just can't handle the lift block lift-needs some proper springs pretty plain inside. thinking add a bed, fridge, stove & sink, & some more seats-better seats then them flat ones in it |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
between work & nice weather, van is down to a crawl
the axles i got off my son's toy broke in 50 gajillion pieces, so spent some time waiting for new axles have managed to get a little bit done. 'bout 50 times harder 4bying a van than a truck |

Re: '64 chevy 2wd to 4wd
got most of the susp, motor & tranny in, still need to scratch out an exhaust for it.
started making bumpers, roof cage, & a ladder to get up to it. have to put my roller fairlead on the f. bumper still why the big bar on the rear bumper?....spare tire. decided to paint rims black too should be priming 'n' painting the body in a day or so |
