Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
Yes, the 8.1 is an option if we can find one at a reasonable price. They range from $200 blown up to $8,000ish. Its almost cheaper to buy a whole truck with one in it.

Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
Here it is as of now. We dropped the frame 20" over all, this will give us enough clearance for when the bags are all the way down the frame will sit right an an inch above the axle.

Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
Well, we got itchy so we did some work on the truck. Since the shop is in disaray we decided to chop the cab! Mind you I have never done this before, but hey you gotta learn sometime right?? LOL
We chopped it 3" in the back and 4" in the front to give it a mean look. |

Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
This was the first ever chop top for any of us here. We took lots of time figuring the best way we thought it should be done. After we got it to the point where it is now, there has been 3 different high end hotrod builders stop by and look at it. All 3 said we are doing an awesome job so far. That was a relief!!

Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
Jonz, thats pretty cool! We are hoping that the windsheld isnt going to be to much of a headache. The way we chopped it it an are putting it back together, it should only have to be shortened and not reshaped.

Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
you should be ok, as long as you don't move the posts inward, the chop should work, my 2 inch chop required the top of the windshield opening to spread apart about 5/8 of an inch.

Re: 1966 Snub-nose C60 project
Badass! Personally id shorten it up, make her single axle, and put a flatbed on it. Flat black all of it on 22/24 semis, and keep the motor under the hood anddrop a 572 or bigger with a 8-71. But thats me
