i like the way you sit in it. I feel like I'm more laid back. Did you guys cut your mounting brackets down any?

does it sit flush with the rear window? If so, I'd leave it.

That is how I am, my rear seats have to sit flush with the rear window

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

its just a tad higher than the rubber seal on the back window. it feels like it sits at a good height so I guess I'll leave it alone.

I got a replacement clutch hole plug (plastic type)from Billsbowtie today. Mine had a hole that someone punched in it.

I also got some rear bumper brackets from a board member, but I can't remember who.

Getting legal today. I got the registration from my dmv and the new title in my name should be here in a couple weeks. Here we have to register and plate it to transfer the title in a new owners name. Its a racket but I've had to plate all my projects before they were even running.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I've got some more parts and some more on the way. NOS backup lenses and big block fan shroud. Some used valve covers and a set of chrome GMC hubcaps. I thought I had the suspension parts but that deal fell through. I still want to try to finish up my stock rim project.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Hey Chuck!! I did the same thing with my 4wd truck. I bought it from a Body shop in AZ with a near perfect bed and perfect cab and front cap. Mines a 72 GMC though. The only thing I didnt get was a GMC tailgate. I went and brought it back though. It was in Kingman which is about 20 min from the cali state line. The only bad part was the frame was crooked so I had to get another frame. Body work wise and time wise it was well worth what I paid not to have to deal with it. Im subscribing so I can see how it goes. Good luck and le me know if I can help.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I also got the headlights from the same board member that I got the new lenses from. They are t-3's but I've never seen any like these. They don't have the triangle. Just t3 and guide on them. Any how they look good and clear. I found some other headlights that I had in a drawer. So I have some back ups. I sanded and painted my buckets and cleaned the rings up.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

Little progress, I put the t-3s in the buckets. I used some stainless steel screws so they won't rust. The original ones were a little hard to get out. The screws have a little bigger head than the original but I don't think it will matter.

Re: Chucks SWB Fleetside

I bought a steering wheel off of ebay and got a horn button from Livrat here on the board. TY. I also bought a steering wheel cover for the wheel and just stretched it over the wheel for now. I still need to paint the wheel.
I also got some parts to help me mock up the front. A radiator suppport that has some rust issues and a grill that is an average driver. I'll most likely buy a new one later. Also got some exhaust for it. Their flowmasters that I'll use.
