Re: 61K10 build
man, this thing is turning out awesome. I hope my K20 ends up half this nice. I just want it running and one color. My cab and front end I am using is original black. it will be hard to make it look real smooth. I don't know about a bed or flat bed yet. Truck looks great, keep up the hard work.

Re: 61K10 build
Yeah, I see the color / shade differences. I'll just go by the data tag regardless.
What did you use for the undercoating? What product?

Re: 61K10 build
I agree...it looks flawless to me. Great job. If it wasn't such a long drive from CA, I'd have you come spray the 63.
Also the emblem looks great painted. I think with the painted pods its just really stands out. Nice touch.

Re: 61K10 build
thanks guy's----there is some flaws in the paint, like pin holes/fish eyes/dirt/bugs. also need to color sand some places and buff. hard to hold on to the pieces while buffing. will finish after body is put together. it's hard to keep it 100% clean in my wounder booth lol.
Mitch---your glenwood green will be real close to my color, should look great. the under coating is sem rocket liner. under the cab will be sprayed, and also the interior of the cab vents down and floor and behind gas tank. rest of cab will be gray, and dash will be the dark hammer paint.

Re: 61K10 build

Re: 61K10 build
thanks again guy's--my neighbor gave me the rims, they are 15x8. would like some skinny 16's but not in the budget now. still looking at tires--mud or more AT type, and probably 31-10.50's. any suggestions?

Re: 61K10 build
Kimble,
As long as your not gonna try to make it a daily driver & just cruise it & play a little. You might want to consider a little taller tire with your 3.90 gears. Maybe something in a 33" range but keep the width down so it doesn't rub with your power steering unit. Maybe something like these. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/bfg-08012/overview/ You can black face them and cover up the white letters with shoe polish or something. It'd give you a nice stance and a little clearance too.

Re: 61K10 build
Mitch--probably won't see much freeway and i am a little picky on the tread type and especially the side wall. most mud tires have busy side walls, not smooth.
Randy--thought about throes but the 15" ones i have found (corkers) are not dot

Re: 61K10 build
Ha! I know exactly what you mean. I am so picky, I am considering running two different sets of rims/tires. Tall & skinny for one set & another big & fat set. lol we'll see how much $ is in the budget when I get there.
