Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
yeah they ride nice. Diamondback though offers all kinds of tires and then they add the redline to them. I have a set of Yokohama's on my 68 Camaro. They can also make redlines for larger diameter wheels as well as different color options and size width of the stripe.

Stumbled across a bunch of photos of the truck from one of the local cars and coffee event I go to on open Saturday mornings.

Very nice vehicles, the kind to hold on to a lifetime. Even more so because you built them with your grandpa. That's just gold.

Spent last weekend in the rain for a fun car show in a nice old downtown. Truck came home with a little hardware.

So, is the blue color a O.E. Color?
Looks nice? Looks like Marina blue in pictures. |

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Its supposed to be factory Medium Blue Poly for a pickup. I have noticed depending on the sunlight the color can really shift on a camera. My 68 Camaro does that with its Lemans Blue.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
well truck has been running super all summer, but early September the rear main seal and the timing cover seal both decided to start leaking right before a big indoor show, so had to thrash and replace them all. Finally answered the question on the block since I bought it. Was happy to see a 4 bolt main.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Got the motor all back together and my grandfather and I loaded up and each took a car to the annual Salem Roadster Show to display together. Was a fun weekend as usual catching up with friends and seeing some new builds.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Another upgrade that I did during the summer was swap the old head lights out for the new Holley retro bright units and wow they were simply plug and play and made a world of difference and still look like a vintage headlight.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Also make some progress on my bucket seat swap. Ended up buying another console that had the seat belt holders (which I prefer over the cupholders) and have been slowly repairing it. Now hoping this weekend to get it painted.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Well made progress on the bucket seat swap today. Got the console now sporting some fresh blue paint after stripping it. Just waiting on the Bezel and then I can put it all back together.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Got the console bezel today so was able to put the console back together. Im happy with how it turned out, its not 100% perfect, but its still gonna look great in the truck.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Seat belt holders? Have to admit, I always wondered what those rectangular holes were for. I take it these were used with those old style buckles somehow?

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Yeah the buckle end would go into the slots. keeps them out of the way when you get in and easy to get to instead of falling between the console and seat.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Or you could use them to hold your pack of Marlboro reds right there next to the ash tray , You drop your zippo lighter in the other side , Ahh the 70's were great !

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
More progress on the bucket seat swap. Got the frames back from the sandblaster and got some primer on them to stop any flash rust. Next is to get some paint on them and then start fitting them into the truck.

Re: 1968 C10 Project "The Twin"
Had a nice dry day to get the truck out for a local toy run. Ran into some other C10s and of course had to park together, lol
