Chevy Resto Packs now cost $50!!!

Been meaning to order one of these for some time. Finally got around to calling them today and was told that as of March 1st, they are now $50!!! Wish I'd have called them a few months ago when I first got my truck!

I hope they do a better job if they are going to start charging for a bunch of photocopies.

Re: Chevy Resto Packs now cost $50!!!

The One I got for my 67 camaro

had a photo copy of the Service assembly manual
Wire harness photo copy
some Publication info ( how many built, options, rs, ss, Conv. ect)

it was an 800 number you could call and tell them your VIN number and they would send you info accordingly to what they had.

It was free but now i take it they are after money.... ouch

The resto pack I received free was a group of info from the truck data book (probably 30 pages).

That doesn't cover what comes in the restoration packet.
It's a bummer that they charge 50 bucks now. I was amazed that they were doing it for free before... but $50 is a bit insane... esp a couple of the years... 70 - 71 packets are weak and mega-lame. i managed to get a packet for each of the 6 years.

Good to know considering I have a '71. I didn't buy it, doubt I ever will.

Wow. Glad I got one for free. I woulda been really p.o'd if I had to pay for the Xerox pages (which are hard to read by the way) I got.

I actually ment 70 - 72... but yeah, the 71 is mega lame too.
Now, if they could offer vehicle specific info like they have been doing for the canadian built trucks, then it MIGHT be worth 50 bills.

The Canadian one is worth the $50.00 (plus applicable taxes), IMHO. It has lots of neat information, like the date is was built and shipped, What dealer took delivery of it what options (if any) it came equipped with.

Re: Chevy Resto Packs now cost $50!!!

Would anyone be willing to scan and email me what they have? I always meant to send for one, but $50 for photo copies put an end to that intention.

Re: Chevy Resto Packs now cost $50!!!

GM is within three weeks of going out of business - at least as they are known now. I bet the new company won't have them available for $50 if they even have them at all. If you want one, I'd say $50 is cheap.

Filing for protective bankruptcy and "going out of business" is two different things.

GM is not going out of business.
