Re: I dont no what I am building haha

Sorry guys I am collecting parts. Just ordered the patch panels yesterday. Mario and I talked yesterday we are going to try to keep the budget at 15000k. That will be tough but we will see. This truck will be satin. I have never had a satin truck. It will be tough not to make it base clear but if I want to stay in the budget this is the way it has to be. HA HA it is going to be tough I just keep because this is really going to be tough. Mario said thats why he is here to keep me in line.

I say do all you can to keep it under budget. That's part of the fun! It will be cool to see you finish within the budget. It will also force you to find "deals" and get creative where necessary.

Have motor trans already. Frame 4000, have wildwood rear brakes already, 3800 wheels tires 1000. Paint sponsored but body panels and parts 500. Interior 1000. Body prep and body work 2500. I think it can be done. I wonder what it will be worth finished.

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

Just had some time to read and catch up on your new project. I am real interested and amazed at your past work. A buddy of mine is doing a Burb also, and I will be helping him with the frame/suspension. He is leaning towards the Scott's set up at this time, he is just hung up on running 24x14 wheels with the super wide pirelli tire out back...

When do we get to see the top off?

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

i would think it would be way cool to shorten the thing as if Chevy made a two-door blazer in that body style....just an early model roadster truck!

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

I couldn't picture what this would look like .. so I took a crack (hack) at rendering one option for it.. tried to keep it low budget based on your build description..

That looks SICK! I say that's perfect, but that doesnt look budget. I see lots of $$$$$$ to build that. But say do it! I also was wondering if you could post more pics of pops porterbuilt build of the finished inside of the bed? Or do I have to wait for it to come out in street trucks? Keep them pics coming!

Re: I dont no what I am building haha

I did not get anything done on the truck this weekend because I am building a frame jig for this truck. I plan on doing a ton of welding on this truck frame so I want to make sure it does not change shape from all the heat.

ya... I set the windshield back a fair amount.

here is the original photo I used as a starting point..

and here is an overlay so you can see the amount of rake..

with 3 school aged kids ... you'd think I could find a stray protractor to measure the sweep... but.. sorry can't find one.

I'd say it's laid back approx. 15 degrees maybe.. not sure.
