Well just got off the phone with my mechanic ... being a newbie at this and it being my first hands on build ... I pretty much have to scrap my $5,000.00 Hotchkis Kit if I'm gonna do air bags and start all over ... Ohh what to do what to do ... I could just put this chassis off to the side and buy another one and use it for another truck, all the work has been done fitting the kit ... But I don't want another truck.

Decisions!!!!

just pull the springs and replace them with the air bags....

Looks a bit more complicated than just changing the springs, seems like most everything is swapped out ... NO??

You only need to swap the coils for bags. The catch-22 for you will be the Hotchkis lower arms & what method is req'd for mounting the bags.

Swapping to bags will possibly defeat some of the benefits gained from the Hotchkis 'system' since it was designed w/a certain spring rate of their spec'd coils.

Great wheel choice. I know Peter very well. The owner of Modulare Wheels in Southlake. He makes a great 3 piece wheel and his prices are good too. I'm thinking about going with the M3 in 22's on my truck.

I would keep the Hotchkis setup, unless you really need or want an adjustable suspension setup. If your looking at going to an air ride setup, then look at the Porterbuilt setups from mild to wild (porterbuiltfabrication.com).

But if money is no object, I would do a Roadstershop complete chassis and sell your original with/or without the Hotchkis system. (1st & 2nd pic on their project truck)

Those are nice wheels (check out the Newgen wheels on Driverzinc.com for different finish combos-I like the black chrome outer lip with matte black center & inner wheel 3rd pic on camaro).

The last pic is the Newgen wheel I'm going with on my 69 camaro (Brushed and clear coated everything). Good luck with your build!

Awesome build going on. I also would've called you crazy for tearing that truck down!

I think what is making this so hard for you is you have money! Meaning it pretty obvious that you can afford to do whatever you want to it, leaving you open to TONS more options than most po-boys would have to decide upon. But this is where truly beautiful and fast trucks come from!

Would it be too much to ask what makes the money for you? Might as well ge to know you if youre gonna b around!

Nice Camaro and great looking wheel ... I had stumbled across the Roadster Shop website about a week ago ... I've gone too far and started off with the wrong truck to go that route now.

Too far?

Unbolt that nice body from the frame it's on & plop it down on the RS chassis. Sell the Hotchkis stuff @ a 'new but un-used' discount to someone to re-coup costs.

I believe board vendor Musclerodz sells these still. They are marquez designs tails and they have matching sidemarkers also.

Rendering Update ...

Changed ALL the chrome to Black Chrome ... On the first rendering he had the truck BED too high so the silver stripe was level just below the bed ... Thats probably why the suggestions came to run the black and silver down the bed ... I don't like that look as it makes the truck look top heavy to me ... But now that the cab is raised up the silver stripe is above the bed thus when you walk around the truck you can see it all around.

Black Chromed all the trim and also adjusted the wheels a bit ... Put low profile tires ... Still needs some work.

Here is an update of the truck with my BMW wheel mocked up in front of it ... Wheel and tire are of actual size of the ones ordered.

Correct-o-mondo!! Roadster Shop chassis is the best. So, be ready to plop down about $16k plus, depending on your options.

Their chassis' are nice.

I've yet to see their cars in the top tier during auto-cross competitions (Good-Guys) so I don't know if one could say they're 'the best'. One of the best choices? Sure.

The C10 chassis is priced similar to the car stuff & includes just about everything (minus the differential/gear set). Their new IRS is uber sweet.
