A company name "Budnik" makes the wheels I like to purchase, they have a new wheel out now that is going to be my next birthday present. :}

The square body steering wheel looks at home in our trucks too.

The four spoke wheel was commonly referred to as the Vega GT wheel. I have one out of my old 71 Vega GT, another from my 71 Chevelle SS and found a grey one in a late 70's Chevette.

The black ones tend to sweat adhesive like liquid but the colored ones I have owned don't do the same thing.

I used an early 70's Cutlass Wheel, dyed it using Colorbond Competition Red #135, painted the Cutlass horn button insert and applied a laser cut "Chevrolet" bowtie and painted filled it blue.

That turned out slick. I am not typically a fan of 4 spoke wheels, but that turned out nice. Good job man.

Special-K came up with this for you and me I guess since I have a GMC also. Used a buick center cap and removed rubber piece that holds buick emblem had a mid 60's GMC horn button and remover rubber collar from it and epoxy glued two together for this a functional GMC center cap for comfort grip wheels...let me know what you think

jjanzen , ur olds wheels appears to be tha smaller mid-late70s olds starfire wheel . i had the 68-76 442-cutlass wheel on my '72 with the buick emblem , it was a spare , i ahve a lot of buick stuff , where ive got a 73' 455 in it . ive currently got it all apart in my garage , hoping to have it all painted before spring , but i bought a nice black four spoke vega style with the bowtie . i have the same wheel in my 70 k10 but with a ss emble, which i may swap out i have a 80;s monte ss wheel in my 89 c1500 silverado

This is a GREAT thread ! .

I can see the beauty of the stock steering wheel but some of the custom interiors here just beg for a different one .

My 69's green wheel has terrible cracks , has anyone bought the re pop ones ? I'm game but not if they're the flexy Chinese junk I've seen for other cars .

I've heard the repro wheels have been improved lately. I bought one in '04,hardly drove the truck and within a few years had not just a crack,but close to 1/8" separation in the rim at high noon staring at me. The rod stock they used was less than 1/2 the size of OEM. Musta saved a whole $2 a wheel! The problem now is how do you know which you're getting?

I have 1/8" = wide cracks at the spokes and moulding joints , the Desert heat does that .

I may just well try one , my interior doesn't look as sharp as many of those posted but it's nice and I'd like to fix this .

I had the steering wheel re done on my '49 3100 , in an off white , it not only looks great but the light color means never hot even when in 125° Death Valley....

This C/10 will retain it's green one .

Mine is from a 91 Lumina. You can see the gauges through it and it's diameter makes it really comfortable sitting in the truck.
